What a wonderful gesture!

Once we stopped visiting family every Christmas, we did meals-on-wheels on Dec 25. We would do Santa, then spend 2 hours delivering a half dozen hot meals, then go home for dinner and unwrapping gifts. Health issues prevent us continuing it now, but we were happy to be able to contribute a little. Every Christmas we have a giving ornament – we give each other gifts – but also send a gift to a charity. This year, gonna send $96 to Carter Center in honor of Rosalynn Carter.

I used to go to the local food bank in a really ratty, beat-up Ford pickup (it was a reliable runner though). The people working there would ask me what I needed, and were surprised when I said I was delivering. Support your food banks, people!

We have a Food Pantry drive each month at our parish and now we started collecting infant needs like diapers, etc. once a month. All are donated to needy causes. Happy Thanksgiving to all!

Do not forget items such as dried and evaporated milk. Personal care items especially tampons and such. Check to see what is needed. They get a lot of tuna and tomato and chicken noodle soup.
