One, two, three o’clock, four o’clock rock,Five, six, seven o’clock, eight o’clock rock.Nine, ten, eleven o’clock, twelve o’clock rock,We’re gonna rock around the clock tonight.
Jukeboxes were fun because you could watch the records being pulled out of a rack, settling on the turntable, and the needle descending without human help. The old Wurlitzers had wonderful sound quality and colored lights, some of which changed with the music. And best of all, it was a shared experience. I feel sorry for today’s kids who don’t have as many opportunities for them.
No jukebox in the school, but our local drugstore had a soda fountain with a counter and 3 or 4 booths. Records always sounded better on a jukebox because you were with your friends and enjoying a [soda] pop or a float or an ice cream sundae [pick your favorite]. Only the booths had the playlist, besides the jukebox itself.

Yes, it was heavy, but the real problem was the extension cord.

That sure is a fancy-shmancy box, just to keep a Juke in.
So what exactly is a Juke? ㋡

A jukebox is always an attraction. An iPod, not so much.

Wasn’t there a line in a movie that went “Play it Juke. Play it again” ? Oh yeah. It was in White House.

In my day I had to carry a Wurlitzer organ.
