    Good weekend Vagabonds

It was actually 30 this morning and it’s cloudy. Generally cloudy all day, high 40.

Jan, how did your speech go yesterday? I know how intimidating it can be to stand up in front of lot of people and speak, that is what the podium is for, to keep you standing. I have been the Noble Grand in my Odd Fellows lodge and Master in my Grange and that podium was a big help.

My day? Well, about the same as usual, keep it simple.

Have a good day Vagabonds and may God bless.

    Good morning, Vagabonds.

Mark, my little talk went pretty well. There was a minor glitch in the video that was to be shown before I spoke and they told me to go ahead while they fixed it. Then just as I was about to start it got fixed but they told me to go ahead anyway. I said “great. I was already nervous.” and everyone laughed. That made it easy for me. And my memories of my dear friends were pretty easy to share. As it turned out everyone who spoke of individuals as opposed to the 20 years of teas in general spoke of those same two dear ladies.

The tea as a whole was wonderful. It’s amazing how the sanctuary can be transformed into such a wonderland. The guys serve us so we don’t have to stand in buffet lines. The table we were sitting out was truly blessed. There were 4 door prizes (extra centerpieces) and two of them were won by ladies at our table plus one of those two also won the centerpiece from our table. She was there with her sister so she gave one of them to her.

I was wrong about that little gift card tree. It had no cash, but it did have over $300 in gift cards. Some of them were for Play Station software that I couldn’t use so I gave them to Mike to find someone at his church who can use them. I also gave him the ones for Starbucks since neither of us drink coffee. I still have somewhere around $250 in cards. Most are for food, one is for a movie theater and a few are either just ordinary Visa cards or a specific store card. What a blessing! I was trying to figure out what to do with the little tree, and I think I will call the school and see if they want it back to refill for next year.

Today’s forecast is for 55 and breezy. That breeze is chilling. A good day to stay inside.

    Everyone have a blessed day.

    Good morning Vagabonds

To my great surprise when I looked at the thermometer this morning and saw 38, WOW! Low hanging clouds, can’t even see the wind turbines along the ridge. By the forecast it’s suppose to be raining, I can’t tell from in here. The rain gets steadier by afternoon. High 45. Snow over night.

My usual Sunday, good news, good eats and good friends.

May you have a blessed Sabbath and Gods protection.

    Good morning, Vagabonds.

Mark, when I looked at the thermometer before I left for church, it was 39 degrees. Not that much different from Vermont. At least for the morning temp. We’re up to 56 on a 58 forecast.

Yesterday I did not manage to get much done other than grow a stye on my right eye. (Heavy sigh!) I did manage to get my little Christmas tree farm display set up on the back patio. Today I am determined to get my Christmas cards done so I can mail them. The ones for church friends go into the “mailbox” we have set up for the secret sisters. Save a lot of postage that way.

At Walmart this morning, I found a long-sleeved tee with the message “Merry CHRIST mas” on it. I’m wearing it now. Red of course and the word “Christ” is in bold red & black plaid applique outlined in gold. The rest of the message is white cursive. I suppose that means the young folks won’t be able to read anything except “Christ”.

We were in Acts 16 today where Paul had Timothy circumcised. It’s always seemed odd to me that he preaches that the gentiles don’t have to be circumcised, but he had Timothy do it. Pastor Tim explained that because Timothy’s mother was a Jew, he was considered a Jew. So he was circumcised so that his Jewish listeners could relate to him as a circumcised male. Wow, talk about giving up your “freedoms” so that you don’t stumble others.

    Everyone have a blessed day.
