Got strings of LEDs. They don’t light, get another set. They do last years without problems. I have one set of white ones up all year. I usually replace them when they get dim due to weathering.
The lights are always in series. One goes out, they all go out. Make them in parallel and just the burned on goes out, the rest stay lit, making it easy to find the bad bulb.Don’t buy ones from China( if you can find ones made in North America). Chinese ones last one year, then quit.

Since they all work (or not) until you take them out of the box I leave them in the box and thus my lights always work.
