Love them, but dogs do insist on going out to relieve themselves in all sorts of weather. There are pads that can be trained to use, at least some can be trained to use them.

I’ve been retired as long as he has, but I enjoy walking my dog in any weather. You just dress for it, which includes a raincoat for the dog. I do wish I could find a good set of boots for him, though. I can’t find anything that’ll stay on over 1/4 mile, and we walk a lot farther than that. Snow and ice get packed between his toes and it hurts him. I tried some claiming they were used in the Iditarod, and they still won’t work.

I see this all day long with so many neighbors walking dogs. I watch from my cozy home with my 2 little budgies. I just change the paper in their cage. I really appreciate them in rain and snow.

Well it is good exercise, and the walk doesn’t have to be that far. It’s a lot better than when you had to clean off your vehicle, drive to work, work all day, clean off your vehicle to come home and drive home.

This is one of the times that in “Cat vs Dog” cat wins hands down.

There are days I HAVE to walk the dogs and there are days I GET to walk the dogs. Usually the difference is in the weather or the number of mosquitoes outside.

Live in the country – just open the door and let them out – they come back in when we call them to come in – otherwise they go to the barn…

If you are retired and have a dog….you are not truly retired!

We dogsat my son’s dog for a year, and he refused to do his business unless we’d walked at least a half mile from home.
