I dunno… It seem like Latinos have been one of the minorities more present in Hollywood. Actors of Western European descent played Asians, Eastern Europeans, Native Americans, and – in the silent era often appeared in blackface – but there was a Latino presence. Not a huge presence but some, like Lupe Vélez, were top-billed stars. And I think it’s gotten better in my lifetime.
