I’ve ridden a cycle without a shield at night as a passenger. It was 1962 and until we were pulled over on a one way road going the wrong way and the driver layed it down, there were no bugs. However, as I lay stunned in the long grass and the cop picked me up I got a bad taste in my mouth. It didn’t improve much until the cops said that since I was just ridding, I could leave. Had to walk 2 miles at 4 am in State College, PA back to my dorm and get ready for an ROTC exam at 8 am. The driver missed the test.
Yep, you peons eat bugs. We’ll fly around the world and eat filet mignon, lobster, hummingbird tongue, and whatever else we want. Remember, the less there is for you, the more for us.
Because if insecticides there are already fewer “bugs” than, say, 50 years ago. We need our bugs! Unless you want to hire people to hand-pollinate crops. I could go on.

Anyone who has rode a motorcycle without a face shield has also done his part.
