Don’t know if I’d call it theft, but back in the 1970’s my fellow employees were masters of the “Code 99”. If something was damaged or opened or the SKU was invalid, we could ring it up with a 99 in place of the SKU at whatever price an assistant manager felt was fair. (how things magically got opened was our little secret)

Gas was $2.75 the last time I looked, here in sunny Tampa FL. Not complaining about that at all.
