I taught that class in 8th grade in middle school. The school stuck it into the middle of the already packed integrated science curriculum.
If a student did not bring back the form, I had to find a place for them to sit while I taught the others. About half of every class did not bring back the form. I suspected they never took it home, but there was nothing I could do. I didn’t have time to call 45 parents before the deadline. (One of my classes was an accelerated learner class. 100% of that class brought back the signed form.)
Considering the pretty useless sex talk Luann’s mother later gave her re: dating Quill I’m glad Luann got at least some information about pregnancy and AIDs (and I hope preventative measures for both).
Ah the good old days when teachers told the parents what they were doing and getting permission before the enlightened times of doing it without permission or even letting the parents know. How we have evolved in such a very short period of time…..
