Which is worse, toddlers or cats? Decorate with both in mind.

We have unbreakables on the bottom. Monroe seems content with them. Achilles doesn’t bother now, and I doubt Bear will play with them.

If we’re home, we put up a small tree on top of the end table. The boys don’t bother it. But, years ago, one of our ‘over the rainbow’ cats liked the danglies. There was one in particular I would find on the floor. I finally just gave up and let him have the little stuffed bear for a toy.

Oopsie didn’t show any sign of being interested in the ornaments. He probably thought it was weird that there was a tree in the apartment. Natasha and Ash would lay under the tree and look up at the lights. Vlad always tried to eat it when he was younger, but not as much when he grew up. Sebastian didn’t really bother with the tree. The current unknown is Diesel. Will he try to play with everything? Will he try to eat it? Or climb it?

I never had a problem with my cats in the Christmas tree. I don’t remember any interaction with the previous ones, but I remember Ericka, Somehow she slept through our putting up the first tree and then walked into the living room to see the fully decorated and lit tree and was quite astonished. She walked toward it, I said “No,” and she turned away and that was it. She pretended there was no tree from then on. If I was carrying her and walked near the tree, she would turn her head in the other direction, away from the tree, refusing to look at it.

Wouldn’t that just make the cat want to jump up to attack the higher hanging ornaments? #iseetoppledtree.
