Joe: Sheesh... another article on Woodstock... I'm really tired of this obsession by Baby Boomers. I mean, it was just a rock concert... what's the big deal? Flo: Well, I guess you had to be theah, deah. Joe: Hey, I wasn't at the moon landing either, but... wait... YOU were at Woodstock?! Flo: A-yeh. Danae: Gran'ma's a hippie? Kate: That'd an answer so many of my gene pool questions...

If I were Danae’s sister, I’d have some questions, too.

Billy Joel said it best about Woodstock. “Woodstock was a nightmare. I was there. Rain, mud, BO, and acid. You didn’t miss anything.”

Yup, the entire hippy culture are all grandmas & grandpas now….some even GREATgrandparents.
I smell a fun storyline in the making.

I highly recommend “Jimi Hendricks Turns Eighty” by Tim Sandlin. It’s about an assisted living home filled with old ex-hippies, who decide to act like they did when they were young. As funny as anything I’ve ever read. Run, don’t walk, to you’re favorite bookstore.

Like they say, If you remember Woodstock, you weren’t really there. Unless you were a “Goonie”, which as we all know is a flightless bird. The one who stayed on the ground, to direct traffic and make the brownies.

I was leading a BSA troop in TMR Scout camp that weekend. Had road guards out, had to take the back roads home to NYC.

Down to earth hippy times at Woodstock way back in 1960’s and 70’s. Love and peace!

I remember Woodstock. I was a kid, on a family vacation trip, stuck in a traffic jam. The radio said that the governor had declared an disaster zone & closed the New York State thru-way. I thought; “That explains it,” & took a nap. We were on the Wolf Creek Pass in Southwestern Colorado. That’s a hεll of a traffic jam. (Ours was actually due to road construction.)
