Whoever said “It’s the journey, not the destination” never spent many hours wedged into an economy chair next to annoying people, having to eat airline food or try to use the toilet during turbulence. And then lose their luggage.
I flew first class once. It was a trip that I had to make on very short notice, and by some fluke, first class was actually less expensive than an economy seat on the same flight. I won’t say that first class was actually luxurious, but it was much nicer than coach.
There was a time when customers were appreciated by the airlines, who did what they could to accommodate them. Now, the only thing airlines appreciate is their bottom line, and the way customers are treated and what air travel has become, both serve as unmitigated evidence of this.

Anyone who says it’s about the journey has never been on a plane.

Where are the transporters? We should have those by now. I need to speak to the manager.

Never never never will I get on a plane again. The trip to Europe was so long I was on the verge of a panic attack! ☹️☹️
