One of the earlier potlucks, I had nothing in mind to bring so I instead packed a lunch for myself. An older lady from equipment cleaning I was on good terms with asked me to try the desert she brought. And it was good. But then a couple days later, i got an anonymous message in my time card slot that read “We don’t appreciate your taking food when you don’t bring any”. The blindsiding anonymity and the bleeping royal we, it was a few years before I let myself join into those potlucks.
