SPOILER ALERT * In Life, the Universe, and Everything by Douglas Adams, an alien attempts to take revenge on protagonist Arthur Dent for accidentally killing it in all its previous lives, including at “Stavromula Beta.” Arthur concludes that he’ll live as long as he avoids that planet, which doesn’t even appear in any star charts or his primary reference source, The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy. In the fifth book of the trilogy, Mostly Harmless, he finds himself at a restaurant owned by a Greek-German chef, “Stavro Mueller Beta,” accidentally kills the alien, and is caught up in the utter destruction of earth by Vogons making way for a bypass.

Not Eddie here seems like a very practically minded kid. I hope he’ll make good use of that.

Greg, was there perchance a jar of Grey Poupon on the table when you were composing this strip?
