Looks like a new Freddy Krueger movie! They finally get downstairs only to find all the presents opened and the contents gone. Now THAT would be a true nightmare on Elm St.
As a kid we would celebrate Christmas morning twice. 6 am was the parent mandated earliest allowed descent time without getting into trouble. But who could wait that long. So there was the 4 am stealthy scouting mission to get the lay of the presents that Santa brought.
The Odessa steps. One of the most famous scenes from the silent era of cinema. Different angles & cuts and the steps appear to be going on forever. (Battleship Potemkin, 1925)
There’s a Chanukah song my family sings, which repeats a verse and fades out the tempo at the end. As a kid, waiting for gifts as that second verse repeats always seemed to me like the song was dragging out its exit.
