I spent the better part of a flight standing in the galley due to the decreased leg room from a reclined seat. After 7 hours one of the flight attendants asked a person seated at the bulkhead that was much shorter if they would mind switching for a while. The person in front wood not move the seat no matter how many attendants asked nicely. Not sure why airlines even bother with it. Used to be I could get emergency row seats. Now they charge premium plus for those seats. They should pay US, since we would (maybe) be doing the work if they mess up!

I’ve found that compression socks make a big difference, wither we are flying or driving.

You should’ve gotten up and walked around, Jamal.

Imagine how much worse your legs would feel if you had to travel like they did 150 years ago. Hard wooden seat on a covered wagon, or a leather saddle on the back of a bony horse. And on average, they only traveled about 20 miles per day. So for any real distance, you were going to spend WEEKS on those uncomfortable seats. Of course, you could get out and walk . . . Hopefully you packed walking shoes. A few hours of minor discomfort is way better than the way things were in the past.
