There’s something uncomfortable about this joke. Just feels ill fitting even for this strip.

What an unpredictable story behind this arc. This really gives out a mood that you don’t usually feel when reading Big Nate.

There are a lot more widows than widowers (and this man isn’t even a widower!) and I’ve seen women fawn all over some old man like he’s a prince or something. He can have his pick of them.

My Uncle was in a retirement community after his wife died. He had a car and could still drive. It was just like High School for him because he had a car and the ladies love to ride around in his car.

This went from a ok arc to a boring one.

The women seem really impressed! But, yes, see 6-1-2011. Same thing, but from school to the retirement home. Still, I like where this arc is going.

Reminds me of the comic where the old lady has a little boy on her lap and tells him" you’ll have to get down now, Billy. You’re sitting on grandmas boobs."

I’m sick of everyone throwing around the term “arc.” It doesn’t impress me.

Clearly something here crosses generations.

7/10, guess hitting on random people runs in the family! You know what they say: Like father, like son!

Vern is just messed up. Not only does he ogle ladies while married, he flirts with them in front of his wife? That’s really not funny

…at least he’s not fiddle-diddlin’ with some young fillies…..acting his age right about now, as I see it……….

It appears Nate and gramps have the same personality’s they both have interest in women ps I agree with Marge

And PPS Gramps is kind of an idiot for doing that in front of Marge how come their not divorced yet

This is a very weird strip. I get the dark humor, but it was very…uncomfortable. Overall Rating: 3/10

I’m guessing Nate gets his propensity to flirt with the ladies from Gramps?

Not only is this joke unsettling, but it’s been done before.

Honestly, I’m not a big fan of the Gram and Gramps strips.

I’d say Gramps’ chances of long-term survival just became minimal.

I dunno about this arc… 4/10 kinda dull.

I love the take in this arc. It’s 100% real.

15/10, way above Nate’s daily grind of school and home.

I know for a fact that old people love to kid like that, which shows they haven’t lost their sense of humor, in spite of their aches and pains.

The sad part is that their kids who might be there at the same time “don’t get it”. It’s the reverse of when you meet your friends at the mall and your mother starts talking with your classmates, and you roll your eyes at her comments. Here, it is the Grandma who is rolling her eyes at Gramps Vern’s quips.

Ma should let him have his fun knowing he’ll be home for dinner.
