Sometime in the wee hours of this morning the earth past by the same point it did 71 years ago when I began making noise, probably because I was cold and hungry. As I have been told it was snowing when mom nudged dad and said, “It’s time.” When dad got back to Albany Village to my grand parent’s house, it was still snowing but, nothing was going to stop my grand mother (mom’s mom) from seeing her new grand son. When they got back to Albany dad turned into my grand parent’s yard and the car’s bumper was pushing snow. Boy, what did I bring with me. (^.^)
Weather then, weather now: Cloudy and 31 degrees, the forecast says temps stay steady with a high of 34.
As it has been for most of the last 71 years, today is the day we de decorate the Christmas tree, and with this tree, it gets stowed down stairs till next Christmas. Understandably sad but, we get the floor space back. (^.^)
May you all have a blessed day Vagabonds and may God be your constant companion.
We de/un decorated our tree yesterday. I used the list of what was stored where that I made last year to put everything back in the same boxes and “layers” of ornament boxes. Not that it really matters, but if I want a specific decoration, I can look up where it is on my list. We have a phone app called “Sortly” that keeps track of what and where most of our belongings are, but there are just too many ornaments and other decorations to add to that app. So I made an Excel spread sheet.
The tree is still up because we need Mike’s help to get it back up into the area we keep it stored for the other 48 weeks of the year. He’ll be here this afternoon to take me to church, so we’ll get him to do it then.
I went to physical therapy this morning and while I was there I did my stretches for my hip. It’s so much easier to get down off of a table in the gym than to get up from the floor in my “exercise room”. Hmm. After writing that phrase, I think I’m going to check out the exercise room in the pool enclosure and see if I might be able to do the exercises there. On second thought, why get dressed and walk halfway across the community when I can walk down the hall in my PJ’s.
I forgot to tell anyone, but on Monday when I drove over to Cozy’s place, one of the major roads was flooded enough that folks were driving through it at about 2 MPH. I looked up the street while I was crossing it and there was a veritable fountain of water coming up out of a hole in the street. Driving home several hours later, the water had stopped, but the road was closed while workers replaced one of the main water lines. I’d not seen that much water on Sunset since the last major rain storm.
We have rain! It’s supposed to move on out of here by around noon. We’ll see. The expected high is 52 and it’s 49 right now. (I don’t know if Sunset is flooded again and I’m not going out to check.)
Everyone have a blessed day and again, Happy Birthday to Mark.
