Oh boy, great temperature this morning at 2, and it’s cloudy. They’re saying occasional snow showers, high 8.
This afternoon we have the service for Nate. Strange, it’s always been Nate to be the one to do these services, now? And then there is the future and the hope we get a Gospel speaking pilot.
Have a good day Vagabonds, may the hand of God be upon you all.
I got up early enough to do my exercises before Mike came by to pick me up for bible study. I’m always a bit wobbly right after doing them, so the ride to church was almost enough to calm down my wobbles.
Afterward (around 10) he took me over to “The Livery” in downtown Henderson. It’s the major “swag” store for the Silver Knights. Unfortunately they didn’t open until 11 so we didn’t get to go in. Oh well, it wasn’t a wasted trip. At least now I know where the place is and I can go over there after prayer on Tuesday. It’s on the same side of town as the church.
The Knights won last night 5-2 against the number one team in the league. Needless to say we were excited. We did find out that when the team’s own website lists the starting time of the game, it means the starting time at the arena where it’s being held. In this case the game started at 7 in Tucson, AZ which is an hour ahead of us, so for us it started at 6 and we missed the first period. We’ll have to keep an eye on that since one of the teams we play is in Minnesota.
Can you tell that I’ve gone off the deep end for Silver Knights hockey?
The rest of the day is looking to be pretty restful until the Knights play again tonight (6 PM, not 7). One of the things I love about retirement is that I can say that.
We’re a bit cooler today with an expected high of 60. It’s 57 at the moment and overcast. We’re supposed to get rain tonight and maybe this afternoon as well. We’ll see.
It’s a cool Sabbath morning at 8 or so degrees, light snow. Forecast says cloudy early and peaks of sun latter, high 10 degrees.
Nate’s service was very good, officiated by his brother-in-law who is also clergy, and he will be guest pastor today. Then the search will begin for a Gospel speaking man/woman to fill our pulpit.
As we search for happier days may you also have happy days Vagabonds with God blessings.
Pastor Tim was on a roll this morning, finishing up 1 Corinthians 19 & starting 20. He’s really good at the history and context of the passages. I was even turning to the map at the back of my bible to follow Paul’s 3rd missionary journey.
The Knights lost last night, but it was an exciting game anyway. And they only lost by 1. There were a couple of really impressive moments, especially defensively though the SK’s did score on a penalty kill.
It’s raining and has been since early this morning. Not a lot of rain, but steady. Our high for the day is expected to be 56 and it’s already 53. My new warm wool coat came in handy. It’s somewhat water repellant, at least in this light rain. My umbrella was buried under the passenger seat where I couldn’t get at it.
