There’s always a before dinner because it’s gonna be time to give him dinner some more so you can give him plenty of before dinner snacks starting now.
I was on shift and my wife was studying for her Master’s degree. Our first male Rottweiler got tired of waiting for her to come and feed him (you could set your watch by his stomach) so he picked up his empty bowl carried it in to where she was working, flipped his head and tossed it on the desk. My wife got the message and fed him.
