Bad skeletons! Bad! You’re a bunch of Argonaughties!
Put them under your pillow and see what happens.
Someone hold the door!!!
Lio and the Argonauts!
Did he have to jump off a cliff to defeat them?
Wore the teeth of his enemy
What do you expect when you go to Harryhausen Elementary?
“Jason and the Argonauts”, 1963.
(IMdB lists the role of “Skeleton” played by Skeleton. Whaa? Great fun, though, with Harryhausen on special effects, Bernard Hermann for music, Honor Blackman as Hera, and Patrick Troughton as Phineas. The skeleton scene is truly brilliant.)
Lio found my +4 Backpack of Skeleton Smashing?!?
Guh?! I thought skeletons only come out at night!
It seems many of us here had the same thoughts about the Ray Harryhausen/Jason and the Argonauts theme. Like minds and all that…
You won’t believe what he had to go through to bet that bling!
well, that showed those skeletons whose boss. ;)
What a reward for slaying the enemy. He’s grinning and bearing it!
I have a boxed set of Harryhausen films with a lot of extras, including several interviews with the man himself. Fascinating, they are.
Good thinking, Lio. Skels take bonus damage from bashing weapons.
If this is Harryhausen week, count me in. I’m looking at my Ymir (20 Million Miles to Earth) figure as I write.
Looks like all of the strips this week are a tribute to the great Ray Harryhausen! Good stuff!
He earned his bones……
Now, Lio…what you really want are the Hydra’s teeth, so you can make your own skeleton army!
Don’t mess with the Lio.
And now, everyone in school will copy him.
I LOVE that movie! Been watching it since I was 6 years old! (yes, I’m THAT old) LOL!! It was the very first thought I had when I saw today’s strip :)
The education is strong in this one.
