Did you know that that plane, the plane of earth’s orbit, is called the ecliptic? Did you know that all the planets in our solar system revolve around the sun in the same direction (counterclockwise – as viewed from above the North Pole)?

I’ve often wondered why north is up. I assume because most of the western countries are on the north half, but is there any scientific , logical reason for us to assume north is up in the galaxy ? Yes, I have too much time on my hands.
