If it’s any consolation, Norm, the other national day item today was chocolate covered cherries. Which I love. So go buy a box of chocolate covered cherries and have a good time.
Straws are a necessary evil. Some people have difficulty swallowing, especially as they get older. With a straw, you can swallow with your chin held down, which reduces the risk of choking.
I wash and reuse my straws for as long as possible. It is a small step toward reducing the landfill waste involved.
