The movie industry embraced streaming, so has survived, but the dislike for the DCMA and the extension of copyright to ridiculous lengths lingers on.

Cruising is not a crime, but it certainly is treated like one in many states. California has lifted their ban on cruising, so the lowriders will be out partying when it warms up.

Hopefully, they won’t jam up so tightly they block business and cause the ban to be reinstated. Like every other right, be responsible in how you exercise it.

Although driving out of Texas while pregnant may cause problems upon your return.

Can you imagine if Disney just started using old fairy tale characters for their own projects, just because they’re in public domain? ;)

Copyright protection is ridiculously long because of lobbying by Disney. The copyright extension law has been called the “Mickey Mouse Protection Act”.

Let’s lift a retrospective glass to Dan O’Neill and the rest of the Air Pirates crew ( https://en.wikipedia.Org/wiki/Air_Pirates ), even though their parodies were of post-Steamboat Mickey and (as I understand) still “protected.”
