Well, eww. Do all those sandwiches come from the sewer?

I wonder if Gary is angry/hurt about Spud wanting to be rid of him, so is poisoning a sandwich – not to kill him, but perhaps put Spud into some sort of coma so they will always be together…? On the other hand, perhaps I overthink this, and ought to get a wiggle on and go to work.

I see what appears to be a “ripened” fish in the sandwich Gary is assembling. There are many cultures in which “fermented” or “rotted” fish is a delicacy. Christmas feasts in Norway sometimes include Surströmming…. I admit that I am curious enough to give it a try if I ever encounter it. But there are so many Americans who wouldn’t even consider surimi or ceviche as edible….

Maybe Gary is preparing the sandwich for Gull Boy.

That green stuff isn’t avocado, but if Spud eats it he will be toast.

holy cow this is getting intense – i’m sure glad rose is there in case things go wrong!

I wonder if Rose is researching imginations or just has a book on hand in case the whole thing winds up just being about a sandwich.

When he was almost a baby, Spud ate a stale sandwich, got tummy issues and had to go through a painful surgery operation. He suppressed those memories, but now .. they come back distorted .. as “Sewer Gary” (wipes a tear, the pun is so bad it hurts). Don’t eat that sandwich!

What foodstuff will Carl start bringing to Wallace when he learns the real reason Gary does it for Spud? (That’s my clumsy attempt at a prediction for this arc).

Why would Carl say " Don’t eat that sandwich " to Gary? Or have I misunderstood?
