One good thing about being the older generation. When there is only one easy chair in the room and there has to be a back of the head to eye conversation, then by rights the older person gets the right to call dibs to sit on the easy chair.
Uncle Ted is wise beyond his years. He reminds me of an excellent Lady teacher I once had. She’s gone on to glory but she always said, “you learn by thirst for more knowledge”
I don’t resent a younger person their youth, flexibility, mobility, sharp reflexes, quick reaction time, lack of chronic aches and pains. etc. Not much anyway.
The 60s taught us to trust no one over 30! 60 years later you can not trust anyone under 30! They cant read and write proper English and certainly can not do math in their head.
It really has been quite amazing. In just about two years, I went from being flexible and capable of doing most things, to being handicapped. And the handicap didn’t come as a result of an accident or sudden illness like a stroke and heart attack. I just went from walking and climbing steps fairly easily to not doing these things at all. The knees went. Just like that.
That bus has passed a long time ago and I am glad that I am not on it. Evolution is inevitable but it is usually happens slowly over time. When quantum leaps occur in societal evolution it is usually accomplished in a violent and or destuctive manner without time to adjust for most peoples. “I want it the way it was” is a quote that comes to mind…..
Uncle Ted radiates inner peace and true wisdom. I so love him. Brutus would do well to absorb all he can from Ted while he is blessed to have him in his life. You can tell by his smile that Brutus recognizes and appreciates his wisdom. And I have a feeling you are the essence of Uncle Ted Chip…
I wouldn’t mind being younger but not part of the younger generation. Not that they are bad, but each generation is a bit different and I am much more comfortable with mine than someone else’s.
I have a friend who is obsessed with having wrinkles. I tell her I earned mine, and don’t regret any. (Neither of us are exactly wrinkled up old prunes.) I just don’t worry about what comes naturally. I hope to get older. I don’t like the other choice.

I’m with Uncle Ted on this. It’s true what they say, youth IS wasted on the young. :-D
