If he Really wants to freak the boaters out, he should come up under the boat and use it as a back-scratcher…lol. I’d bet the local underwear shop would have a real spike in business that day.
I was on a whale watching boat once off Provincetown, MA, and there was a small pod of whales near us. The guide told everyone to wave at them, and a few people did. “No, I mean everyone wave at the whales!” the guide said. So all the passengers waved together, and then the whales rolled over on their sides and put a fin up in the air. True story.
A few years ago when I was on a cruise, I went on an excursion where we got to snorkel with whale sharks. And I swear this is true: There were a few whale sharks who got used to these excursions and literally waited for the excursion boat to show up so they could swim with the humans! And I’m pretty sure that the whale sharks didn’t even have to pay like we did.
