Coach McCarthy survived the annual purge of coaches this year (so far) but you can bet he will be on the hot seat next year after such a bad loss to the Packers in the wildcard. Other coaches of playoff teams who will probably also start the 2024 season on a short leash: Nick Sirianni for going 1-6 down the stretch, and getting boat raced by Tampa in the wildcard. He bought another season by firing his coordinators. Speaking of Tampa: save a hot seat for Todd Bowles for basically being a conservative unimaginative defensive minded coach who refuses to use timeouts (including one at the end of their playoff loss to Detroit which was mind boggling), thinks avoiding turnovers is better than scoring points and dislikes big chunk yardage plays and fast scoring drives as he feels they will “tire” his defense (McCarthy said the same thing when he run Kellen Moore).

The first was Tom Landry. I’ve never forgiven Jerry Jones for that.

A problem with the Cowboys is that Jones thinks that he is entitled to Super Bowl victories.

Jerry Jones son wants the coach to stay but the QB will be traded away, Jerry says that will work but the coach has to win the Super Bowl for the 2024 season!!!

Having Jones as owner frees me from ever having to worry about the Cowboys making it to the Super Bowl.
