Loretta has a few choices. She can berate him for every holiday and birthday, or she can learn to make herself happy, or she can just be crabby and sulk. I suggest #2. People who don’t want to make someone else happy and celebrate a holiday are unlikely to change. Look for something else good they do. If there isn’t anything else, question your choice. I don’t know why I wrote that, since neither of them are going to change and I enjoy the comic, so I don’t want them to change.
