She behaved as most mothers-in-law do with their sons-in-law. I know something about it, in fact I liked to call my EX-mother-in-law “the barracuda”.

Maybe one day poor Brutus will be able to refer to his MIL in the passive tense.

Next time she visits, wear your new black suit. The one you bought just for her….funeral. 2 can play that game.

I get along great with my mother-in law, on the other hand, I can’t get along with my wife.

My mother hated my ex. I spent more time with him than I did at home catering to mom’s every demand. Now, I am not sure which was worse.

Poor Brutus. With Valentine day around the corner – he’ll have to buy his sweet MIL a gift of love or out to dinner with family. Got to love Brutus. Uncle Ted could give insight here. Go with the flow, don’t swim upstream. Accept when things are out of your control. Peaceful life better than life of turmoil.

At least she is very dependably consistent in her hatred/treatment of you. So you always know what you are going to get. However, when that is the best thing that you can say about a person, that is very sad indeed. Then again, she is a mother-in-law…..

Good one Chip. Gladys is being overly kind to Mama. One thing I haven’t picked up yet from the elegantly coifed old bat is “passive.” But is Gladys offering a passive apology to Brutus? Hmm

Mother Gargle was pretty passive after she got rid of all that aggression.

Gladys sees her mother through tinted lens, hence the passive reference. But, from Brutus’ perspective, it’s all aggression. Gladys should be aware that for her to show hatred toward Gladys’ husband, is a kind of passive aggression against Gladys. It is way past time for Gladys to choose which one is her true love: mother or husband. But, Gladys may be a victim of her mother, too, just as is her husband, Brutus.
