The REAL solution is technically easy but requires a comprehensive set of policies:
Build livable housing (e.g. NOT prisons) for refugees along the border so they can wait under decent condition for their immigration hearings
Create hundreds of new courts with competent judges who can oversee immigration status cases in a legal and timely manner
Allow refugees who qualify into America and send the rest home peacefully and compassionately
Return undocumented aliens found inside America without having reported their entry and been adjudicated as qualified or are here without a proper temporary work visa
Stop propping up right-wing terrorist and criminal states in south America — the states that generate refugees to start with
Assist south American states in creating strong liberal democracies
Fine and imprison American companies who employ undocumented immigrants
Create a new status of temporary work visa targeted at farm workers and other workers who are currently employed but undocumented
Fine and imprison American companies who exploit and abuse workers under the new temporary visa system
So, yeah, create a functional and compassionate immigration system that WORKS. It’s not hard, we just lack the moral (and legislative) will to oppose the violent terrorist criminals of the right who want nothing but the license to murder, rape, and steal. As always.
How can anyone think abbott is right to say that Texas law supersedes federal law? They’d have to believe that vigilantes had the right to kill people they believe are bad and they can override the legal system.
