    Happy Presidents Day Vagabonds

The sun is rising and the light is sliding down the side of the ridge. The temp at get up time was 15 degrees and cloudy, there may have been a light snow. Cloudy early, partly cloudy by the afternoon and flurries and, or snow showers. High 16.

When I was in school, about a 100 years ago, we had Lincoln’s birthday and Washington’s off. Of course we did all the usual arts and crafts that comes with their birthdays to hang on the school room wall.

However my school was an old country school house, a two story building, like two one room schools one atop the other. Unlike a normal one room SH, in this school were two teachers, one down (1-4) one up (5-8). Teachers had to have a really good lesson plan back then.

One more thing away back in the 1800s there were 13 school districts in Albany, however, only 12 school houses are accounted for. It seems number 13 was never built.

I’m done rambling now, so have a great day Vagabonds and may the Lord bless.

    Good morning, Vagabonds.

I am convinced that our temps in the low 70’s are leaching the heat out of other parts of this country. I feel bad for reporting today’s high of 71 when Mark is looking at a high of 16.

It really is a pretty day outside: blue skies & sunshine. Yesterday we even had the doors open for a while.

I made a pot roast yesterday that turned out nice. I kept it cooking in the InstaPot longer than I normally would in order to tenderize the meat better. As a slow cooker I don’t think that InstaPot works as well as my old crock pot did. For one thing the pot’s a lot bigger so my smaller meals aren’t big enough to fill even the bottom of it. And when the pot roast does produce gravy, it isn’t enough to cover the meat to tenderize it because it has to fill the bottom of that big pot. I know, complain, complain, complain. I should be counting my blessings instead, especially after Saturday’s encounters.

Today is the second week of our study of Esther and I’m really looking forward to it. I even managed to do all of the homework. Now all I have to do is remember to leave the house around 11:30. Not as easy as it sounds with my memory.

    Everyone have a blessed day.
