I hope this arc is bringing you some self-acceptance. It’s certainly causing me to look at the times I have felt like that and feel a little more compassion for all of us who have similar experiences.
A friend in 3rd grade had her hand up to use the bathroom for 5 minutes before she peed at her desk. It was seeping towards me on the floor so instead of raising my hand I just yelled out we need help back here. I was in trouble for that.
You’re so brave to publish this Amanda, I hope you learned better self talk and grounding methods.
I don’t intend to diminish this, your story but this is the reason I can’t function. I had no one to tell me I needed help. No idea how to put into words what I needed and no courage to speak up because I was in this state constantly. But for the grace of God I would likely have ended up a drug addicted street person.
I’m so sorry that you’re going through this Manders XOXO
Being a sensitive person is a double-edged sword. We have difficulty getting over things which should be minor, and tend to ruminate. But! We also can find joy in things that are minor, which many people miss. Accepting that it’s ok to be “too sensitive” and acknowledging the positive side is an important step toward healing. ❤️

It is not what we hear that upsets us. It is what we think about what we hear that upsets us.

Ultimately you got some comics out of it and he got nothing. So, win for Amanda!

That’s why you should have decked him at the time. It puts you in a mentally stronger place.

Too true. Negative memories seem to have a much longer shelf life than joyful ones.

Well done! Being in the moment with your feelings like this and acknowledging where they came from can be really helpful.

Accurate. Different stuff personally, but the crushing inky blackness is right. And the once it starts, it self-perpetuates.
