Back in the ’80’s we could not look up trivia this easily – WBLM is real – been on the air since 1973 – WBLM 102.9 FM is a classic rock radio station servicing the central and southern Maine and southeastern New Hampshire listening areas from Portland, Maine.
Wonder if they received a bunch of calls from this cartoon back then? Especially about that weather report!! Too funny!!

Only now, instead of public access, it’s the far end of the basic cable channels.

Ahh, Public Access TV! Ain’t it wonderful? Does it still exist?
“The Big BLaMmo! WBLM-TV, your Bloom County Public Access Giant, with the best in local programming, daily from dawn to midnight sign-off!”

Does any channel still sign off by playing the “Star Spangled Banner”? I used to see that all the time, but haven’t seen it happen in years.
