At last, the seagull gets to be part of the action and not just an observer!

All his patience has paid off.

Seagull knows where he fits into the food chain.

“I take that as a ‘no’. Unless the bucket is really far away…”

That’s why the seagull hangs around Wallace, his friends and family. FOOD! He is off to find a handy rock to drop that clam onto.

This is the first time I’ve ever seen Seagull actually fly

Found a clam, ex-clam!

Happy as a seagull with a clam.

I think there’s a line of seagulls off-panel, each waiting their turn..

Chain of command… well, chain of request in this case.

How coincidental, Back to BC follows Wallace on my GoComics list, and today GROG enjoys a clam as well.

I’m still surprised that the clam got past Sterling.

We used to live on the Monterey Bay, in California. Seagulls were never this polite.

Is he a European Seagull or an African Seagull? Or is that just a Swallow question?

Where is angelolady? This should make their day!!!

So – Seagull’s other name is Bucket?

Wallace only asked if he could put it in the bucket. He did not actually tell him to put it in the bucket.

And Seagull says “yes please”

Smart seagull.

With my friends it would be, “Here’s a beer. Could you put it in the fridge”? Last guy would say, “What beer. Burp”.

It was a chowder clam – too big for steamers, but might have made a descent fritter. Steamer Clams are the Veal of the bivalve mollusks.

Also… Doesn’t Sterling seem a little sedated today? I could imagine him pretending to be Freddie Krueger or Wolverine with that clam rake / garden fork.

Lesson? Save time when you skip the middleman.

The family will be very surprised at the empty bucket when completing the clam dig.

For just a moment, Sterling held a living creature in his hand and didn’t do something evil to it?

it looks like the seagull clam’ed up.

I expected Sterling to try to eat it.

Yup! That’s a gull.

That one was too easy! They will also take a sandwich out of your hand on the fly. I’ve seen it happen and had it happen. There’s more than one reason gulls are Not popular here.

He’s a friend. But he’s still a seagull and that’s a huge clam.

I wonder if that’s the Lolrus’ lost bucket.

Seems the kids are lefty like their Mom.
