Why did Nate tell his teacher that he was about to break up?

This is from real life. There was a video that went viral of a kid using the same excuse re. his homework and the teacher jokingly mocked him with “mwah-mwah”. The teacher was fired for not showing compassion to the snowflake.

Nowadays kids just go “I did it, but I left it at home. I’ll bring it in tomorrow”

Honestly this strip for today was a filler arc. It wasn’t really needed

By the time she was in 8th grade I told my youngest to stop bringing homework home, ignore it. If I had gone into the classroom and talked to her about home stuff, the teacher and the whole school would have had a fit. But they were allowed to send work home and cut into our family time. Why? I finally rejected it. And guess what: she passed with straight B’s. Homework accomplishes nothing. Tell your kids to stop doing it and see what happens. Tell their teachers you won’t play that game any more. Family time is short and precious as it is, you don’t need the school intruding on it.
