The Boondocks by Aaron McGruder for January 05, 2011
Transcript:
Huey: What's remarkable about Ruben's situation is that he won against such overwhelming odds. Clay was that obvious favorite of white middle america... Which means, in order to win, Ruben must have gotten a lot of black people to vote - and getting black people to vote for anything is an amazing feat! Caesar: Maybe he should run for President... Huey: Why not? At least he doesn't have a perm...

Actually, McGruder made it political. I’d rather believe that Reuben won because of music lovers, rather than black votes. Unfortunately, music lovers don’t buy records by the millions. Pop airheads drive the industry, which is why I don’t watch the show. I only know what’s on it because the “news” won’t shut up about it.

So how does McGruder account for the millions and millions of white people who bought Stevie Wonder, Michael Jackson, Smokey Robinson, Chuck Berry, Diana Ross, James Brown, Earth Wind & Fire, Roberta Flack, Aretha Franklin, Dionne Warwick, Brothers Johnson, Etta James, The O’Jays, Isaac Hayes, Billy Preston, etc.., etc.. records?
Hmmmmmm???
