Al Sharpton was never going to happen. The first time I saw Obama, I told my sister that I’d just seen the first black President. Thought it would take him longer, though.
There were several contributions; one I recall was the role Morgan Freeman had in 1998’s Deep Impact. It was the first time I’d (OK, somewhat movie-deprived) seen even the concept of a Black President portrayed, and done with dignity and skill.
