This is year three for a family of Bald Eagles in my neighborhood. Love watching them as the soar around our skies. Interesting watching the interactions of them and the local crows, (crows don’t like them!) turkey vultures and ospreys. Most everyone gets along. The turkey vultures started off as 3, more than a dozen this year. Hopefully the eagles will multiply the same.
Bald Eagles have not been on the endangered list since 1995. They were still considered “Threatened” but in the lowest level as their population is increasing. Bald eagles were delisted from the Endangered Species Act in August 2007, because their populations recovered sufficiently, bald eagles are still protected under the Migratory Bird Treaty Act and the Bald and Golden Eagle Protection Act. Both laws prohibit killing, selling, or otherwise harming eagles, their nests or eggs. Where I live in Washington State we see bald eagles almost every day.

Most of the younger generation opt for feather plugs over a toupee.

You sorta have to feel sorry for the bald eagle. Being chosen to represent what this country is rapidly becoming. Bummer.

Bald isn’t the stigma it once was. Ask Bruce Willis or The Rock!
