They are having the time of their lives! My mom made us go in the garage. That was the first part of the cleaning process. Ha

When I was a kid we had a hole at the end of our driveway. When it rained, that hole filled with the best mud. My best friend, Taffy, had freckles that she hated. I remembered reading something about beauty masks of mud, so I mentioned it to Taffy. We went to the hole and Taffy slathered mud on her face. Being the good friend I was, I did, too. Our mothers were NOT amused.

When Newt was a puppy he jumped into the shallow creek in the park near our house. He loved splashing the muddy water as he ran back and forth and ended up looking like a dark brown dog instead of the golden red that he is. Needless to say he enjoyed (endured?) a long bath after his romp!

While getting muddy can be fun, mud is generally not the best part of a splashing (in mud puddle). The splash is the best part. Sidewalk puddles are better for splashing and not getting muddy.

Trying to splash on something (or someone) else can be fun.

Childhood is so free and wonderful! Especially if you’re raised by wonderful people! Thinking back, I definitely was!

I never was one to play in mud. Dry dirt and digging in it was fine. I tried to dig a tunnel under the slab foundation of the garage one time. I was probably lucky we didn’t have a good shovel, or I might have been buried alive. ;-)

Hose down both of them before they take one step into the house.

LOL… Walking in the April rain with the street gutters full and running with clean new fallen rain was wonderful…

This is one of those days where the neighborhood moms have to hose off the whole gang to be sure which kids and dogs are the ones they have to take home.
