Same with “taking away our guns”. Every Republican running has said and no Dem has ever stated any intent or made any effort towards in spite of the soaring random murder rate. The Dems know the strength of the gun lobby and the GOP just loves that blood soaked cash.

Obviously the best choice is to avoid all media and have no opinions

Fox has seen that if they don’t give the viewers the opinions they want the viewers will go to Newsmax or OAN to get their view

The fact is, ALL news reporting involves a choice of what news to report and how to report it.

It is entirely possible for a completely legitimate and factually accurate news story to be ignored by ALL the aggregators cited in the second panel yet still be reported by Fox or another outlet. Or for the others to simply “not have time” to prioritize such reporting—“LOOK!! Another wildfire!! LOOK!! Another Boeing plane problem!! LOOK!! Another murderer on the loose!!”

More likely, in the case of this completely hypothetical “ban on meat” (or on guns, gas cars, whatever), the news sources of the second panel would report “The Biden Administration passed new regulations it says will protect American consumers and help combat global warming” while Fox, the Washington Times, etc. would report “the stringent new regulations are specifically designed to make the future sale of meat products to consumers and industry impossible, thus resulting in a de facto ban on meat…..” Now, it’s hypothetically possible that both statements could be completely true at the same time. It’s all in the way one chooses to present the news in question.

And the ratings demonstrate that there is far higher of a demand for Fox’s chosen method of presenting than for, say, MSNBC, PBS. CNN, etc., if only because Fox chose to “corner the market” in such reporting, while liberally-slanted or attempted neutral reporting is split between all those sources listed in the second panel.

Aside from Fox they’re all in on it, what it is is a mystery, and only for us and the good Lord to know.

It is good to remember that virtually all media is corporate owned, especially everything on TV and in newspapers. So there are stories you are not going to get from them.

The LIEs in the Republican SOTU response is an example.

Gun owners are afraid of the boogeyman. That’s why they need guns so badly.
