I’ve only seen one season of American Idol (the one where Reuben won) and never had the desire to watch it again. I’m not sure how American Sideshow Idol would be.
Sorry, but too early to be clever, I guess. I will say g’morning and g’day to those who are around or passing through. The only American Idol I followed was the last four or five episodes with David Cook. Something about his singular presentation of the music was exciting and fresh. His rendition of “Billie Jean” was amazing. Glad he won. Uh-oh…is this becoming politicsl (wink, snerk)
cleo I read yesterday’s posts that were up after I got off for the night, and you say I’m the same height as your wife. I think you got me confused with someone else, since I haven’t said how tall I am. I’m 5’5”, BTW.
doc I know very few people besides myself who keep a list of books they own, so I’m glad to know you do too!
I have had several other homeschoolers look at mine, and wish they did. I figured as much $ as I have invested in books, my insurance company wouldn’t believe me if I didn’t keep good records, in the event something happened.
doc I try to enter my books in my database immediately after purchase. That way, I also put in how much I paid for it, and where I bought it, while I can still find the receipt (or remember). I have plenty of books I haven’t read yet. We’re doing history chronologically, using real books, instead of textbooks. So I generally wait until when we’re studying that time frame to read those books. However, I love reading fiction from the library, and if I run across any that I think my guys will enjoy, I read them (aloud) to the whole family. Makes long drives through boring countryside more interesting and gives us something to talk about as a family.
doc While I love owning books, I’ve found it much more practical for me to utilize the libraries. I just don’t have the space to store more books, even if I buy them cheaply. My rule-of-thumb for buying is that I can’t borrow it somewhere, and need it for school. Most other books if we wait a little, can be checked out through libraries. In KS you can request an “inter-library loan” if your local library doesn’t carry it. Therefore, I have access to almost all the libraries in KS, at no cost. (Other than my tax dollars, of course.)
I have never watched American Idol, and have no plans to do so. Antique Roadshow I’ve only watched because my mom had it on when I was visiting, so I had no choice.
doc - I am sure your youngsters are appreciative of your willingness to loan. If we lived closer, my sons would want to become part of your tribe, so they could borrow from your collection.
Several years ago my sister took my sons to visit a friend of hers, who is single & childless. My youngest son looked around, and expressed amazement that there wasn’t anything to read at this friend’s house. He knew better than to expect toys, but he’d never been in a house before that didn’t have at least newspapers or magazines to read.
What cha’ doin’ today? I was cleaning out kitchen cupboards and listening to cd’s as I was dancing around the kitchen LOL, and made the mistake of coming up here to get on the computer!
Sounds like we’ve got a lot of mystery readers here. My family enjoyed hearing me read all of the Sherlock Holmes stories I could find. (I think I found them all.) Brother Cadfael mysteries were a hit, too.
When I find mystery writers that I like I read all their novels and then am disappointed until someone else enters the group I am currently reading. I like Ian Rankin, Michael Connelly, Elizabeth George, Jeffrey Deaver, Stephen White, JA Jance, etc.
It has been several years since we went through the Brother Cadfael series. Got hooked on them, because one of them was recommended for our history study. (To help understand the monastic culture in that time frame.) After we’d read all the books, then we checked a few of the movies out of the library. We were all quite disappointed that in one of the movies, they made the villian a different person than the one in the book. It was especially distressing to us, because the movie villian would have been related to us. (I’ve got one line of my genealogy that has been traced clear back to the 900’s and the Viking invasions)
JFri it’s the Flag Day holiday. Most areas don’t observe it, but our county does.Never heard of Jive Bunny! Right now I”m listening to a mix of Bananrama, Earth, Wind & Fire, Norah Jones, Brothers Johnson, Dave Matthews, and Coldplay.
My dad loves the mystery novels in large print. He’s read all the above mentioned and Lillian Jackson Braun, I believe who writes the cat mysteries, there’s also another lady who does the same. And he loves Agatha Christie.
JFri, Before that I fwas listening to a mix of Bobby Brown, Stevie Nicks, Annie Lenox, that one song I love, Over and OVer by Nellie and Tim McGraw, a rapper and a country singer together- GREAT song!, Barry White, and AMerica.
As you can see, I have a wide range of musical interests, not to mention blues and jazz!
“They” as in? Do you dance? There’s a group in town here who does ballroom dancing. A couple of members are man & wife doctors. I haven’t danced in years, but when I’m alone and working around the house, I cut loose!! Don’t tell doc, or he’ll ahve something to hang over my head! LOL
What do you think of the artists I listed?
I like some of them. I really liked Stevie Nicks in Leather & Lace. But I am sooooo into the sixties stuff, it’s what makes me get upbeat in a hurry! I have a collection of 6 CD’s I put together that is mostly 60’s with some 80’s songs and a TV theme here & there. When I’m blasting down the highway (especially days like last Thursday) it keeps me alert.
JFri, I’m about 5 1/2 ft I almost put inches (LOL)!!!
You’re what 6 ft? I think you said once.
Gee, so you text, watch the sky, drink mochas, and get down to music while you’re driving! What am I gonna do with you? Nagging doesn’t seem to work, LOL!!
I have a blazer with a sunroof so in the summer, I crank open all the windows, and the sunroof and blow down the road with my CD’s full blast! I hate air conditioning, the hotter the summer, the better I like it!
LIke I said I like a lot of music, so probably some of your stuff I would like, and that Jive Bunny is great!
Dry I WAS 6’5” but seem to have settled back down to 6’4”. I’ve been doing crazy things for a LONG time & I’m still alive! Got some scars & lots of broken bones along the way but still alive! When it comes to fatal errors, I avoid them like the plague!
JFri you worry me! LOL Well then, when we dance you can just hold me up off the ground so I don’t step on your feet!! :-D
Hey there is one song I must know if you like, “Layla” by Derek and the Dominoes (AKA Eric Clapton). the full 7 min. version
cleo, then I will have to wait until next Monday to see the comic strip, I only get it over the net, and it is a week behind. I love it though, great strips!
JFri, that version is livlier than mine, I guess because you tube was a live concert! I love that thing! I just listened to it twice and now here again! Funny how music takes you back to your youth, memories, etc. good times, good times, as Phil Hartman would say on News Radio!
@Rmom, I simply cannot imagine living in a home without something to read. In fact, I am rarely more than about 100 feet from my current book(s), and it just seems wrong somehow. But I’m not addicted. I can quit any time I want to. I just never somehow want to quit…
I’m way too late for breakfast or lunch, so I’ll just visit. Time for cocktails soon over here anywys, not that I drink. (wink).
Jfri and Dry, all this talk about dancing reminds me of a time when our teen club went to the maximum security penitentary to sing Christmas carols for the inmates. Then they played music, and I danced with this great hulk of a guy who must have been over 6’5” * : ) *It was sort of a waltz, and I was being swung around while everyone else snickered.
Later I asked who he was, and they said, “Oh that’s Bob White. He has an extra “Y” (or is it “X”) chromosome. (That’s why he was so tall and strong.) But the kicker was that he was in there for killing someone.
I doubt if they would do that these days, but the head of the place believed in rehab for everyone, and Bob was allowed “out” for good behavior.
bmonk - I’ve always enjoyed reading. My parents were of the mindset that if a kid was bored, work was the cure. So, I would read the encyclopedia rather than admit boredom.
JFri, who said it was you? Do you have a past we don’t know about? 0 {{:)
Dry My sister and I joke about our height. She’s 5’ 1/2” , I’m more like 5’3/4” now–but I’m still taller than her!
Jive Bunny is great BTW. Sort of like “Hooked on Classics” way back in the day. (Just don’t ask me what day.) I know must of the songs, but ONLY because my older sister and BIL played them! 0{{:)
Cleo Sorry for leaving you all alone last night, but I can’t take too many of these late nights. Of course, for you, they are not late! No fair. I leave three hours before you and it’s still not late for you.
You are a good height. My one and only BF (long term anyways) was that height. Any taller, and i get a krick in my neck. (Sorry JFRI. Good thing we can talk and dance virtually here!!
Not to say I’m fishing for someone here, so relax guys. I’m too busy to even visit BT, but everyone here is just so sweet and so bleeep NUTS that I can’t resist. But, I am not—well you know- add…add..hooked on this site.
bmonk: Ever heard of The Book Of Knowledge? I think it was a set of encyclopediae for school agers. My dad kept a set of them, and I loved to read them. They were old. Thomas Edison had just recently invented the light bulb, and The Wright Brothers were wonder kids who defied the law of gravity. But I’d give anything to have that set again. There was poetry and history too, and all kinds of intersting articles.
bbl, gotta finish what I started before I get back on here again! I’m bad, and NO I’M NOT ADDICTED!!!! Not in the least, not even a little bit, not even … … .
Bmonk: Definately don’t give DRY any ideas with the bagpipes. We might have a murder on our hands, eh, Dry? Doc would sic Boots on you. Of course, just play the bagpipes, and no one will come close! LOL
Let’s see, we went from listing songs, to tv shows, and now on to books - though maybe not in that order. I also kept a list of the books I own (that are in my library). When my laptop died 5 years ago, I stopped updating since I wasn’t sure how much I lost. Now I’ve got a pile of books I need to add one day. I don’t add a book until I’ve read it from my “to read” bookcase. This year I’m actually keeping that resolution so the books are slowly going off of there.
Although my Guidepost (American) calender says that your flag day is the 14th of June, not the 15th. Do you make it a long weekend? In Canada, we used to make Canada day into a long weekend, but in retail now, they give us the day off (when I was there) on Canada day. This year, it’s on a Wednesday. Bummer for those who aren’t in banking or the government.
I like the feel of reading a book, holding it in my hand and turn the pages. My wife is so busy enjoying working in her garden that she now listens to books either with her ipod or on playaway.
I am also a cookbook fanatic, but I have began to control myself and get most of them from the Library instead of buying them. When I moved in with my wife, we cut back all cookbooks to just the ones we use or get ideas from. She is more a follow the recipe cook , while I use recipes as building blocks for giving me ideas.
shika, Yes it’s a long weekend, but it’s not a national holliday, only localized.
Cleo, I have a ton of cookbooks, rarely use them, but hate to part with them!
Akenta, I used to be really good at keeping up on photographs, dating, labeling, etc. Now I have a BIG box full still in the store envelopes that need to be dated, etc. Don’t think I’ll ever get to them! Sigh!
Cleo I cook the same way. In fact, I read recipes for relaxation and then use them to make my own creations. Problem is, when I’m asked for a recipe- I can’t always remember how I cooked it, and they tell me that it just doesn’t taste the same as what I cooked. Sigh. I try.
But your cooking sounds more labour intensive than mine, or maybe when I’m doing it, it just seems easy. Some of your recipes I must say are “must try” ones.
Listening to books while gardening however, combines the best of two worlds, if you have a good book and lots of gardening like your wife.
I likely wuld not be a good candidate for doing both- I get easily distracted and would tuen out one or the other of the activities. (And plant something upside down if you get the picture.)
Shika - I actually try to cook good food with minimal prep. There are just as many good, simple dishes that satisfy every bit as well as labor intensive ones. For New Year’s Eve this year I made Beef Wellington for eight and it took me three days. It was very good, but never again.
Dry - I too have a tough time parting with cookbooks. I learned a big lesson though when I sold my parents home after they had passed away. Eight weeks of garage sales and eight weeks of utilizing a dumpster.
Hello, I’ve been busy catching up.
All is well. My doctor was very pleased with my latest scan results. Yea!
I’ll BBL. I’m giving daughter number 2 a cooking lesson, tuna patties (cakes or whatever you call them).
I have a number of cookbooks, but the one I use most is likely the most basic. The Joy of Cooking. It has all the basics plus a few fancier recipes to try. But I’m not a fan of fancy myself. I like curries though, and make my own.
cleo - I am now a “recovering pack rat” because of going through a similar experience. My father died, and four months later we moved Mom into a much smaller house. They had never had a garage sale, but Dad loved going to farm auctions. Both of my parents grew up in the depression, so they kept everything, including the curtains from their WW2 apartment! I’ve come to realize that much of what we keep our kids won’t want, so it just becomes trash.
Shika and cleo, why don’t you just do like doc and Joy, use the SMALL white box in the kitchen, not the BIG one, the smail one, and just ZAP everything!! LOL
Dry - I do use the small white box, but for defrosting and heating up leftovers. When I used to do a lot of Black & White darkroom printing, I would use it for heating up chemistry.
It looks like another stormy night here. Last night a tornado hit a house about 40 miles south of me. Tonight is predicted to be worse. Just missed getting marble to golf-sized hail within the last hour, it got a town about 15 miles north of me. Tornado watch until midnight. Flood watch, too. I guess if I can’t sleep because of the storms, I might be on BT late tonight. That is, if the internet stays up.
shika - I love the annual Food & Wine cookbooks and we use a lot of cookbooks by chefs of this region like San Juan Classics II. My current favorite that I bought recently is Artisan Breads in Five Minutes A Day. It’s funny, in between bursts of posting I am sitting on our deck looking at three cookbooks I got from the library.
Hello all,
not a lot to say today, and a lot of catching up to do. So I’ll leave it to this:
Congrats Carmy
Good luck RRAmom
I enjoy the fruits of cookbooks.
RRAmm - what I was trying to say is my parents grew up in the depression too and saved everything. When I went through their possessions I had to go through old greeting cards because I would occasionally find money inside them. You sure get more than your share of drastic weather.
cleo - Mom saved greeting cards too, but the most I ever find in one are pictures. Now that she’s unable to read, I just go through the cards, check for address changes, etc. and toss in the trash.
Can’t say the weather is boring here! I was just checking one of the local tv stations to see what sort of live streaming weather coverage I could find. Is it normal for a television station to have 5 meterologists on staff? I can understand why they have so many, because they’ll do round-the-clock live weather coverage if there is a tornado warning in their viewing area.
When I was spending my winters in southern Texas I could go accuweather and get the weather 15 days in advance and have it be spot on. Here in the Pacific Northwest it must be humiliating to be a meteorologist as the weather forecasts are more often than not, wrong.
Akenta - Thanks! Tornado season is the primary reason I won’t own a house without a basement. I’ve seen the aftermath of a tornado, where there isn’t a stud left standing. We’ve got weather alarms in the house programmed to go off when a severe storm is near, so at least we’ll know in time to take cover.
cleo accuweather was started by a meterologist - Mike Smith - who (at least used to) worked in Wichita. I’m not sure where he’s based now, but it is probably in KS or OK.
We attract people who are extremely interested in the weather. We offer most every kind of weather: tornadoes, hail, flash floods, drought, sleet, freezing rain, snow, highs above 100F, lows below 0F. I think it makes it interesting and challenging for a meterologist, which is why we get top-notch ones here. The ones who didn’t do so well in their classes go to places where the weather doesn’t change as fast. (Nothing like dropping 20 degrees or more in 30 minutes or less, when a cold front moves through.)
Correction: Michael R. Smith, is CEO of WeatherData Services, Inc., an AccuWeather Company. I guess he didn’t start AccuWeather, but WeatherData.
2006 - AccuWeather acquires WeatherData, Inc. of Wichita, KS, the leader in user-centric severe weather warnings.
doctortoon - You are becoming like a real doctor. You wait for an hour to see the doctor. He spends as little time with you as possible and then is gone. JUST DON’T START BILLING US. LOL
Just dropped in to say Hi everybody.
Great news Carmi.
I’m glad to see that I’m not the only one who likes to read. I had to get rid of several of my books when we moved into this place. Now I really would like to get some of them back but I can’t find them. I always check out second hand bookstores, garage sales etc. IN the meantime, I couldn’t live without the library. I have loved reading since I was a kid and my mother read to us every night. I find everything else is just an irritating intrusion in my reading time. Except visiting here of course. I also like music but my favorites don’t seem to be too popular here. I like country music but my very favorite is the old time western and cowboy songs. My only connection with cowboy “culture” is watching tv and reading.
serena - I love Hank Williams, Bob Wills and the old country swing. I am not a big country fan as pertaining to most of the new genre. I don’t know if Lyle Lovett is country, but I like him. I liked the songs of Roy Rogers and Gene Autry. I loved Johnny Cash. And…I loved the song Ghost Riders In the Sky.
Johnny I get my weather forecast from Intellicast.com The email lists about 5 days, but if you want to know hour-by-hour you can follow links that will give their forecast for each hour, which includes about every type of weather info.
Dry and JFri, thanks you for the hugs! :)
A big thank you to the rest of the Yappy Nuts for all your kindness and support.
RRAmom, I’m glad you will get some advance warning if something nasty heads your way. I’ve been through several hurricanes, but I’ve never been through a tornado, I’ve been in towns that were hit by some, but they weren’t in my neighborhood.
I don’t really need to know the weather, in the summer it is mostly sunny, but it can get stormy. For the most part though, the weather is quite mild so there isn’t usually a pressing need to check it, and even if I did, the lakes are always changing it, especially in the winter.
The worst hurricane I went through was on Sept 20, ‘67. I googled it found out this: Hurricane Beulah spawned over 146 tornadoes. Wind gusts up to 136 mph and maybe even higher as the anemometer got bent back over 30 degrees. 27 inches of rain! Back in those days, they weren’t category numbering. I think Beulah would have been a 5.
cleo for during a storm, wunderground.com is what I use to monitor it. It does the best job of automatically refreshing of all I’ve tried. Their radar was down for a couple hours tonight, so I was scrambling to find other coverage, but it is back up now.
Tribe Toon Daily Post Accuweather Update: We will once again have gathering darkness as dusk arrives with continuing darkness through the night. There is a 100% chance of gathering light by dawn and a 93% chance of weather tomorrow. We will keep you posted as we get updates.
Good night Akenta, Dry and whoever else has left. I’ve been trying to dry my laundry, but had to put the dryer on twice to do it. In my building with 6 floors, we have two washers, and two dryers for the whole building. Take a while some days to get thinkgs done.
carmy - are you familiar with Drive By Truckers, they are kind of country rock. Woman Without Whiskey is a good song. I watched that Maverick cover on youtube. It was good.
Shika, make sure you clean the lint trap really good. That will speed up the drying time. Use an old dryer sheet, it does a good job picking up the lint on the trap.
RRAmom You just get far too much weather down there. I thought that only Canadians did that. Snow, hail, heat waves, rain and sunny days, and that was just last week! LOL
*Thanks for the food JFri! *I love shrimp and corn on the cob. I only have about twenty minutes left before I turn into sleeping beauty though. Will that bother you?
Pirate. Ye be plying the seas t’night again? I am mighty grateful you are sich a forgivin’ man. That’s what keeps you a real Pirate’s Pirate, if ye will.
Give my love to Joy. I can see why you two are a legend around these parts.
This is a good sign that I am up past my bed time. I stopped making sense.
Cleo, JFri and Owlsly: good night.
Carmy- Thanks for helping me with the dishes.
Cleo: I had a delicious lamb burger with Stilton cheese and fresh baked buns. The lamb was rare. I thought of your cooking. You’d have enjoyed it, I think.
Peace and Love all!
Thanks for the Shrimp and corn offer JFri. Enjoy your dinner.
Try to keep up the posts! We’re on a roll tonight….except I’e rolled off to sleep–Sorry!
Shika - We have a great brew pub here that does a nice lamb burger with roasted potatoes as a side. Delish. We had chicken enchiladas and fish tacos with black beans, rice and coleslaw; all for stuffing in the tacos.
Shika, you’re welcome and Good Night.
I’m still cruising youtube. I finally found an old Ozzy video. It’s a nice song, not what you would expect from him at all.
comic, planning a b-day cruise for the ever lovely Joy?
comic, yes, it is late for me , but I’m not sleepy yet. Might be the chemo. Anyway, I don’t have to get up early. I’m still catching up on my rounds. I’m about halfway through and I’m just reading, too late to comment.
I started my movie and left my wife to watch it. I get irritated watching movies where people are fighting for their rights with big corporations. This movie got great reviews, but I should have known it would drive me bonkers. It is called Flash Of Genius and deals with the man that invented intermittent windshield wipers and his battle with Ford for credit.
Yeah pirate, I googled the real guy and he ended up going nuts and becoming obsessed with the case. He was offered big money after fighting Ford and Chrysler and he just lost it. I can take some angst with movies, but I need some escape as well.

Sounds like we’ve got a lot of mystery readers here. My family enjoyed hearing me read all of the Sherlock Holmes stories I could find. (I think I found them all.) Brother Cadfael mysteries were a hit, too.

Hi everyone!

Shikamoo Premium Member over 15 years ago
Although my Guidepost (American) calender says that your flag day is the 14th of June, not the 15th. Do you make it a long weekend? In Canada, we used to make Canada day into a long weekend, but in retail now, they give us the day off (when I was there) on Canada day. This year, it’s on a Wednesday. Bummer for those who aren’t in banking or the government.

I like the feel of reading a book, holding it in my hand and turn the pages. My wife is so busy enjoying working in her garden that she now listens to books either with her ipod or on playaway.
cleokaya over 15 years ago
I am also a cookbook fanatic, but I have began to control myself and get most of them from the Library instead of buying them. When I moved in with my wife, we cut back all cookbooks to just the ones we use or get ideas from. She is more a follow the recipe cook , while I use recipes as building blocks for giving me ideas.
Dry and Dusty Premium Member over 15 years ago
shika, Yes it’s a long weekend, but it’s not a national holliday, only localized.
Cleo, I have a ton of cookbooks, rarely use them, but hate to part with them!

Shikamoo Premium Member over 15 years ago
Cleo I cook the same way. In fact, I read recipes for relaxation and then use them to make my own creations. Problem is, when I’m asked for a recipe- I can’t always remember how I cooked it, and they tell me that it just doesn’t taste the same as what I cooked. Sigh. I try.
Shikamoo Premium Member over 15 years ago
But your cooking sounds more labour intensive than mine, or maybe when I’m doing it, it just seems easy. Some of your recipes I must say are “must try” ones.

I don’t know what people get out of reading books on a tiny Blackberry screen. One fellow I often see reads books that way. I like to turn pages too.

Listening to books while gardening however, combines the best of two worlds, if you have a good book and lots of gardening like your wife.
I likely wuld not be a good candidate for doing both- I get easily distracted and would tuen out one or the other of the activities. (And plant something upside down if you get the picture.)
cleokaya over 15 years ago
Shika - I actually try to cook good food with minimal prep. There are just as many good, simple dishes that satisfy every bit as well as labor intensive ones. For New Year’s Eve this year I made Beef Wellington for eight and it took me three days. It was very good, but never again.

cleo accuweather was started by a meterologist - Mike Smith - who (at least used to) worked in Wichita.

The worst hurricane I went through was on Sept 20, ‘67. I googled it found out this: Hurricane Beulah spawned over 146 tornadoes. Cleo I get some of those nice magazines given to me. Tonight, I read the flyer that came with my Reader’s Digest! LOL All beef recipes.
JFri. Do your appliances have deep voices too? Why not use your light saber to cook things?
100% chance of light in the morning? That’s good. I hate it when it gets darker in the morning, don’t you?
cleokaya over 15 years ago
carmy - are you familiar with Drive By Truckers, they are kind of country rock. Woman Without Whiskey is a good song. I watched that Maverick cover on youtube. It was good.

Shika, make sure you clean the lint trap really good. That will speed up the drying time. Use an old dryer sheet, it does a good job picking up the lint on the trap.

Time for dinner. Hopefully back later.

Carmy How did the cooking lesson go?
DawnAvril: What books are you looking for?
Did I say good night to DOC? Nope. Good Night DOC. Have a good day tomorrow!

RRAmom You just get far too much weather down there. I thought that only Canadians did that. Snow, hail, heat waves, rain and sunny days, and that was just last week! LOL
Shikamoo Premium Member over 15 years ago
Carmy I always clean it before I start. I cleaned it twice today. Mua’s been shedding. : )

johnny didn’t want to sound too cocky!
Shika I hate that, too! Light sabre cooking is a real artform!
cleo were you talking to my appliances?
johnnydoc5 over 15 years ago
AH JFri, always the modest one! Now it is time for me to go to bed. Good night all!
carmy over 15 years ago
Cleo, no, I haven’t heard of Drive By Truckers. I”ll go check them on youtube in a little while. I got to load the dishwasher.
Shika, the lesson went well. She just forgot to add some salt to the mashed potatoes. Eh, live and learn.
Shikamoo Premium Member over 15 years ago
Good night johnnydoc! Hope the weather doesn’t come inside for you! : )
Shikamoo Premium Member over 15 years ago
JFri: I’ll bet that steaks taste great when you sear them with a light saber!
Shikamoo Premium Member over 15 years ago
Carmy Did you go to bed too, or is RL intruding again?
I guess that’s a silly question. How’s she going to answer me? lol
Shikamoo Premium Member over 15 years ago
Oh well. You can always add salt at the table, or butter if you have it.
Shikamoo Premium Member over 15 years ago
Just don’t butter your brownies. I still can’t believe that. But then, it probably tastes good for all I know!
Shikamoo Premium Member over 15 years ago
DRY: I hope you get to Doc first tomorrow with your horn. If he’s going to stay away, he needs to be told!
But…..I defer to your own wisdom regarding that. ; )

Hey Pirate! Get out of Adam’s basement will you? I heard you were caught mooning too on Cleo’s lake. You should blush! Er, me Lord! (Deferential bow.)

Sorry Owlsly- Still here? I still have dishes to send to Carmy. Are we keeping you entertained?
Shikamoo Premium Member over 15 years ago
I think JFri may have enough on the BBQ for you too, if you are hungry, though you’d best ask him to be sure.
cleokaya over 15 years ago
Howdy Owlsly, nice to see your bee hind.

Pirate. Ye be plying the seas t’night again? I am mighty grateful you are sich a forgivin’ man. That’s what keeps you a real Pirate’s Pirate, if ye will.

That was at the restaurant for lunch Cleo. I didn’t cook it myself. :)
cleokaya over 15 years ago
Shika - We have a great brew pub here that does a nice lamb burger with roasted potatoes as a side. Delish. We had chicken enchiladas and fish tacos with black beans, rice and coleslaw; all for stuffing in the tacos.

comic, yes, it is late for me , but I’m not sleepy yet.

It is called Flash Of Genius and deals with the man that invented intermittent windshield wipers and his battle with Ford for credit.
commicaddict over 15 years ago
‘Tis a bummer, cleo! Morrrrrrre power ta ye, Carmy!
cleokaya over 15 years ago
Yeah pirate, I googled the real guy and he ended up going nuts and becoming obsessed with the case. He was offered big money after fighting Ford and Chrysler and he just lost it. I can take some angst with movies, but I need some escape as well.

Goodnight JFri, cleo and comic! I finally got caught upon my comics. Now I can go sleepers. P&L
