Great looks with hair gel. Unfortunately panel 3 looks like a pile of dog poo. Hmm, poodle wearing dog poo. It’s logical. I like the windblown look in panel 1.

I’m so tired I’m cross-eyed, but I prepared a spread for you none-the-less:

Crepe Suzette, or bavarian waffles with whipped cream, or Canadian peameal ham steaks with honey-mustard and pineapple on top an eggs any way you want, whole wheat toast, home-made black berry or wild raspberry jam and juice of your choice. Pirate’s coffee or Doc’s- your choice.

Okey, breakfast. Fresh strawberries and raspberries from our garden. I will make an omelet with sauteed onions, basil, shrimp, feta, zucchini and peppers. My bread today is fresh Italian semolina. I have organic lemonade and since everyone likes doctortoon’s coffee, I will let him bring his vat.

I kinda like the statue of Liberty myself!

Panel one looks like snow to me, but then I’m Canadian, eh? :P

It is probably to cool for you. It was probably about 70 today. I am the one individual you will run into at a gathering who always runs hot. I am always the one still in a T-shirt and shorts, when everyone else is putting on jackets. it was that way this evening. As the sun set, everyone ran for their coats and I stayed as unclothed as socially acceptable.

DocT thanks for letting me know about the produce. I’m real picky about what I choose there (I really need to try a farmer’s market). I usually get there right when they are re-stocking. If not, I just ask if they have anything in the back and they bring out a box I can pick through.

Good afternoon, Tribe. Being under the weather and taking a much needed nap after church I am making my rounds, bringing Krispy Kreams for an afternoon delight.

Looks like we’ve hit the ‘3’ in bad news, first Farah, then Michael J. and now Billy Mays. I wouldn’t have known the guy’s name except for Secret Asian Man had him plugging the lunchtowels a character was launching.

Farah wasn’t unexpected, she had a bad cancer.

Michael Jackson wasn’t entirely unexpected, either. The man, genius though he was, was extremely troubled and had very fragile health. I figured the tour he was planning would be the death of him….but during the tour, not during the initial rehersal phase. I wish/hope the family leaves off the independent autopsy because ‘they want an answer now’….it takes time to get the truth and as much as it hurts, they have to be patient.

Billy Mays….huh? That’s kind of a reality check when a guy like that passses in his sleep. I’ve started hearing about a roght airplane landing and konk on the head….that might be the cause.

Gotta get back to cleaning, fell behind because I was sickish late this week. Takes forever to clean and only 0.00000000001 nanoseconds to trash.

I have go 4 hoses, with 4 different types of sprinklers going. On our drive to yesterday’s party I saw the lawns of homes along the way look like they do in August, very brown.

Good afternoon all. Way too late for breakfast, but I have roast chicken, green beans, rolls and cucumbers straight out of the garden for lunch/dinner. Pull up a plate and enjoy.

The chicken is good, it came from Costco, so you don’t have to put up with my cooking.

Well my day of watering is coming to an end. I like watering and I like seeing the plants respond, but of course watering never can compare to seeing the plants several days after a rainfall.

Lots of people on the lake today in their boats and on jet skis. Not to many people wake boarding today.

I have fresh seedless watermelon for those who, depending on your time zone, want a pre dinner snack or those who just want a little after dinner refreshment. I am serving cocktails as well, if anyone is interested.

Doc, tell me something, just how fresh are the fruit and vegetables that we buy in the store, or does it depend what part of the country you live in?

In the summer we have two small local farmers markets that have stands, one group Tues and Fri and the other Sat and Thurs, plus I raise my own tomatoes, peppers, calif, cabb. lettuce, etc.

doctortoon - The same thing is going on here. All of the stores want to tout local food. We have an amazing city. Every grocery is local except one. Local businesses survive here. People make a point of going to local hardware stores, book stores, groceries, etc. I am pleased how a city of this size has responded to shopping locally.

doc one of my friends and her husband were raising 4 pigs to see if they wanted to do it full time, along with her show dogs, Kahtaden sheep, and a couple cows. Anyway, they arranged with our two local grocery store chains to take all their old produce ( like 2 or 3 days old!) The stores were happy to do it because that meant nothing was being wasted until the state stepped in and said the stores couldn’t do it anymore, no stores in PA were allowed! What a waste of food

cleo, you mean there’s one place in the world WalMart hasn’t taken over? Imagine that!!

We have a family owned farm that has been swallowed up by the city. But they continue to supply produce for both the stores and people that stop in. And, their produce is cheaper and larger than the stuff the groceries import. I live in a great spot. We also have two farmer’s markets a week.

Dry - No, we have a WalMart, but I never go there. Our city has all those chain stores, but if someone fails, it is a big box store. We have a locally owned hardware store that has outlive Ernst, Home Base and is surviving with both Lowes and Home Depot in the city. The key is that the local store, has employees that can guide you through a project from start to finish.

Grocery stores are where we really shine. We have many groceries in this city, all owned by two families, except for one Albertsons. Albertson’s tried to open a second store and the city said that they wouldn’t shop there. It closed and a local chain bought it and it is thriving. Safeway had a huge store that closed.

Dry dangerous, nah. She’s about as dangerous as buckshot in an oven.

cleo, there was a cartoon in Parade magazine that comes with our Sunday paper today. I have been trying to find it online but can’t ! It was hilarious and when I saw it I immediately thought of you!! I wish I could find the link for it! It was a Charles Barsotti panel, who does a lot of work for the New Yorker.

We had our Pride parade today. it rained, but there were still thousands out. I wouldn’t have cared, except it goes past my church, and so I found myself swimming against a colourful stream of drag queens and who-knows- what. Enough said. Not a good topic for here- I just mentioned it because of the “colourful” sights.

BTW– I’m making a withdrawal for my nephew. I just heard he was involved on a motorcycle accident. A woman in a car ran a red light and hit him. He has severe whiplash and whole body is bruised. He had just been given a new engine for his Harley for his Birthday, which will be July 2nd. Don’t know if his bike is salvagable yet. I’m more worried about him though. I’m sad.

JFri, kind of strange, he hit his head pretty bad, just like Nataha Richardson and now they are both gone. I guess people should pay more attention to head injuries!

JFri, My singing apparently was so bad, that in grade school for the Christmas pageant, one of the nuns told me to just mouth the words!!!
