Good morning, tribe! Terry - I think I figured out my problem with photobucket! For some reason, it doesn’t like Firefox. I used IE this morning - worked just great. I used the photo I’m using for my avatar to test with, now I’ll have to see if I can upload the full version size. I got to thinking it was a browser problem, because Firefox would always go into “not responding” when I tried to logout, etc. Once I get my photos loaded, I’ll have to figure out how to let the tribe look at them.

When my previous marriage ended, I decided that I was not going to date just to have a woman in my life. I would meet a lady and if there were elements that seemed just not right in the chemistry or interests between us, I would back away. It took 6 years to meet *LG* and it was worth the wait.

Good morning, Doc! Sorry, I’ve been multi-tasking, so it took me a while to get back here.

Terry - I’ve got to figure out how to make RRAmom my photobucket user name. Right now I key in my email address, but I don’t want to put that up on a public forum. I’m heading to see my hubby today, as soon as my son can finish his schoolwork without me. So, it probably won’t be today when I get photobucket ready to share. I’ve got a theory as to why my internet connection is up & down, while others in the house haven’t lost theirs. I thought maybe it had to do with a Vista upgrade, and I can’t rule that out as a contributing factor. But it seems worse when others in the house are hogging the bandwidth. We’ve got high speed, but not the highest speed, because we couldn’t get it here. My geek son was just downloading a 200mg+ file and I couldn’t get my connection to stay up for any length of time. Now that he’s just surfing, it seems to be okay.

hi DocT & Dry. haven’t been able to do more than a super quick fly-through (once) since Friday. just managing to read the comics i follow, never mind all the lovely comments. i see Rmom is looking at photobucket for sharing photos. mark me down as one who would like to see them. i’ve spent a bit of time on face book finishing (at last) my album for my Fall 2008 trip out west. i’m still trying to find a way to share them with non-face bookers.

JFri do you feed the birds. I have for years and it is so fun to watch them come in little packs, especially the chickadees who are so used to me that they come and gather on the branchs next to the feeder waiting for me to refill it, singing the whole time.

I guess I should have said flocks instead of packs, but packs seems to me more appropriate for their raucous antics.

cleo my Mom always had bird feeders around the house - Winter & Summer. she was a terrific gardener who loved having the birds around as well - and there was always a large variety of them around.

yyyguy I have fed birds in three other places close to where I now live and it is amazing how the varieties change in each location. Where I am living now has probably the least variety of feeder birds as it is more of a coastal fly zone than a mountain zone.

We have a lot of birds around here, but I don’t feed them. They like to swipe their live meals out of the swamp.

time for this bird to fly. i’ll just drop a donation into the karma bank first (after mentioning that i really notice the difference in the ad levels now that the “genius” status has disappeared).

Carmy when you lived in Texas you had a bigger variety of birds there than anywhere else in the US. Four major fly zones cross in the Rio Grande Valley. I have biked and hiked in several of the sanctuaries. That wall that they were planning to build along the border would have been devestating to the Santa Anna Wildlife Refuge and also the butterfly Sanctuary.

My post didn’t post, wonder why? Anyway, to yyyguy and Cleo, now yguy is gone, I used to feed the birds year around. but don’t anymore. I wait until the real winter sets in and the bears go into hybernation. I live in a residential area with high traffic, but that doesn’t stop the bears from coming into the neighborhood. Best thing to do around here is take down your feeders in the summer and fall until it gets really cold.

DRY i have no clue how to refresh this page on this computer i feel dumb. lol my post normaly does not post bc i forget to hit post. lol

Dry, not right in my neighborhood but you don’t have to go far. We have coyotes and there have been cougar sightings here.

I guess we have coyotes about, so they say, but people swear up and down there are Mountain Lions around and the Game Commission keeps denying it. There have even been photographs, but of course, they could have been photo shopped. We have bears that walk right into the streets and cross the road and go up into the ridge across the street from me.

I need to send you some nice grizzlies for your collection!!

Our house has Blanchard Mt. across the creek from our back yard and there are plenty of coyotes that stray down. I haven’t seen a cougar, but some of our neighbors have. We have lots of bald eagles. The only bare around here is me.

No JFri, that guy in the background definately looks Amish to me!

We have a resurgance of bald eagles along the river here and out in the valley area., but none of them look like you or Homer!

I wish I had some bears to send you Dry, but we don’t get any.

Cleo we have enough bears, thank you very much! When one comes within 50 yards of your kid and his friend on a residential street, that’s enough bears! But it’s not the bears fault, they put in a big 4 lane highway that went through their ground so where else are they going to go?

Dry I am taking 4 1/2 cups of red wine and reducing them down to 1 cup along with cinnamon and cloves. It will be reduced further. After cooking chicken pieces and other things half of that mixture will be reduced by half again while deglazing the pan and then it becomes part of a sauce.

I’ll be there for dinner, Cleo! Think I can make it in time?

Good evening all! Just got through what lived up to be another unpleasant Wednesday, now I can focus on the Friday exam and Monday paper, and maybe, a full night of sleep. For now, I will procrastinate.

Carmy yes i do get a twofer (two for one. :D) with that, but with the fact that im not allowed to use two balls is a bummer. i always have two (not to be tossed at the same time) but if one pops my finger out or is to heavy etc. i have a back up. well not in class you dont. it says so on the ”Etiquetteand Rules” page

Tabby, after I made my post about you and drama I wondered if you would take it wrong. I always worry about how much stress that you have to deal with. If I made you feel like you were saying something inappropriate I apologize. I meant that you always have stress and can not seem to get a moment to relax. So, if my comment spurred your remark, just consider the source of the comment.

By the way, that was without a doubt the best chicken recipe that I have ever had. Thanks my friends for joining me in the experience. I only wish that it could have been a reality and included you all. The Tribe Rocks.

TabbyLynn You know how rarely I post on weeknights, it’s even rarer for me to backtrack on a posting to find out what went wrong. The postings this morning about your tirade prompted me to do just that.

I concur with everyone, Here we can vent. Lord knows I have….remember my tirade about the slowness of the plasma center in getting me into the Rh- program and all the discussion it generated. I’ve tiraded on other things before that I can’t remember…..mostly because I was comforted and reassured by the Tribe but it wasn’t something to generate a ‘what the heck is that’ thread.

Anyway, I have some lovely 15 bean soup available in the BT kitchen, help yourself and see you on Saturday!
