Don’t worry that much about the typing: 80 wpm is good enough for most purposes, and the more you use it, the more you will improve.

When I took typing in High School, I got my only D, because I was always just a little to slow to turn in my “tests”.

I find that if I concentrate on the text as I type, I slow down slightly, but my accuracy increases greatly, so the overall speed is better. I still can’t get over 40 words per minute, though.

At 80 wpm, you’re doing just fine. My employer’s job postings usually specify 50wpm minimum for positions that involve typing/keyboarding.

Accuracy is the key in keyboarding/typing. My daughter used to type 35 and 40 and now does 55-60 of pretty error free copy she tells me without really trying.

Well, other than a touch of the flu, I’m back in action. It was a wonderful visit, saw lots of new things in Raleigh, and even found a Polish market for our Kielbasa.

Hi, Sojo! It was really nice and warm when we arrived home last evening. Did you get out while the temps were great? Because I heard on the radio this morning the temps were to start out around freezing and go down. Intellicast says 13○F tonight.

Rmom - Yes I got out yesterday and picked up several things. It was to warm for this time of year not to! It will be cold for a couple of days but I think it will then return to more normal temps for this time of year. Unfortunately the moisture has missed us again.

Sojo - I wished my hubby would have been willing to cut our visit one day short, then we could have enjoyed warm weather. As it was, it was colder in FL the whole time than what it was when we got home last evening.

Rmom - LOL

I wasn’t sure what kind of cake you wanted so I got you a magic cake. It is whatever flavor anyone wants (though I would not recommend some) and no matter how much people eat it is still whole so it still looks pretty. I hope you have a great day.

Sojo - It is pretty bad when you’ve got to leave FL and come to KS this time of year to get warm! Worse part is because they don’t normally get that type of cold, the buildings aren’t designed for it. Only single pane windows, not double. The heat pump (their only source for heat) wouldn’t work when there was frost covering it, so at night, the furnace couldn’t do much. No electric blanket, either. Thankfully, we brought long pants, long-sleeved shirts and jackets. I used my earmuffs & gloves too!

My family, though my sister and hubby couldn’t make they were making deliveres from a small business, ate at Golden Correl for lunch our daughter told them today is my birthday we got free drinks. I told my hubby he could have all he wanted. Me I still cannot have anything with fats. I have been so carefull with food intake I am noticing I get fuller faster. Thanks to ♥Big Sister♥* on the cake I am adding with this so I and others can enjoy the treat evan though this is last day of the year.

I didn’t realize part of Mother’s Day but ohwell still will go with ♥Big Sister’s♥ cake. What flavor is the cake? I had a little lite chocolate for lunch I hope I can sleep great. I just realize I forgot to add nuts to chocolate pudding. I didn’t have icecream.

Rmom I didn’t realize FL did have better protection against the elements. And FL does get very cold weather there news reports this everyyear including about price of citrus going up. Citrus orchards have to everyyear take precautions so Oranges grapefruit don’t freeze. What I don’t know if FL gets snow. So it’s no wonder you were cold there.

Hello all taking breaks from BT and reading. Remember ♠Lonewolf♠ has that chest cold, I think, feel free to disagree. ♥Big Sister♥ thanks that is the best type of cake. Me I was a good girl at Golden Corral. My hubby dished up some deep dark chocolate cake with dark chocolate pudding and I definitely new better and refrained from it. I had lighter color chocolate pudding with whipped topping and shamefully forgotten nuts for topping. I hope I can sleep tonight. Hubby gave me nice earrings not diamonds, I have a bad history of losing half of pierced earring and I will not buy real ones, daughter was with him to chose. So with all your great wishes for my birthday, I had a very nice celebration so thanks to everyone. Makes turning older on last day of year eventful. Well back to my book reading getting interesting.

Just got in the sheets from hanging outside in the sunshine and 55° but now it is 41° The whole bedroom smells fresh and sweet due to the sheets. Probably will have to use the dryer for the rest of the winter. (sigh)

Serenasakitty I Always have ice cream available but try to limit my indulgence. Have you tried the mini-cones that Walmart here carries? They have nuts on the top of chocolate over a 1/4 cup of vanilla…about 100 of the best calories going…they are like baby Drumstiks.

My hubby said something in front of his mother about me chatting with my invisible friends, so I thought it was better to show & explain than to let her get the wrong idea. Of course, anyone who knows me well knows I’m a little bit nutty. (It is almost a prequisite in order to homeschool.)

@Sojo, not really–the whole point of monasticism is not to change much–at least not in what most people think matters so much.

bmonk - So I hear. I had hoped to have reason to change it to a warmer looking avatar while in FL, but no, this is pretty much how I looked when I did go outside. I hear it is cold here in KS, too. It was really nice last evening, which came in handy while we were unloading the car. But a cold front blew through, so the current temp is only 24○F - definitely a drop from yesterday’s high of 70○F!

RMom, I’m curious. I’m pretty sure I’ve only described my state and/or city (Other than Texas/Houston), where I will return) as ‘the armpit of the universe’. So…where do you think I am at. If you guess correctly I will fess up. If not, I’ll have a good snicker and quaff some coke to toast my success.

Here it’s currently in the below zeros, and for the next day or so–but supposed to get as high as 20°F by Sunday–heat wave!

bmonk - LOL! I think we’re supposed to get down to 15 tonight. (How do you make your degree circle?) I guess I need to get dressed to brave the weather. Hubby & I are going to head out for dinner, but the rest of the evening, I hope the 4 of us will enjoy some family time. Watching DVDs, playing board games, etc. So I’ll probably be scarce until tomorrow.

@Rmom, I either use a word-processing program and find the appropriate character, or find another site (NOAA) that gives weather with it, and copy-&-paste. You could also use the alt-number route–if you know the character map for ASCII.

@Rmom I’m in Norfolk, VA. Currently melting out from 14” of snow. Some of my outside decorations will be up a little longer this year. Can’t get to them until there’s a big melt.

Lonewolf my street still has a couple of icy spots (shady street), but most of the main roads are OK. Still probably 4-5 inches in the yard. Starting to see some grass again in spots.

The yard decorations are in the front flower bed. It faces north and snow stays there the longest. Probably by next weekend, I can get them down.

Joe was special. I wish him well and hope he finds or found help for some of his problems. He must be a very strong man to have gone through Vietnam and living openly as a gay man especially during the time he did. He has a lot to be proud of and has gone though a lot of tragedies none of us would even want to contemplate. Of course, he still has his faults………
