Hi, Everyone, Just checking in with the Tribe. Went for my walk this afternoon, and there were some fresh big cat tracks. I’m just as happy NOT seeing the mountain lion that makes them! But, it’s fun to know we live in an active area. Neighbors have seen a bear, and 3 wolves. I’ve heard the coyotes, and of course, we have tons of deer, and elk in their season.

Hi, friends! M’Lady - Sounds like a beautiful place to live, but I think I’d be packing some large caliber just in case of an attack, when you take a walk. I’ve heard we have mountain lions here in KS, but they aren’t real plentiful. No bears at all. Snakes and rabid skunks, etc. are usually the only dangerous wildlife we have here. Lots of deer, pheasant, wild turkeys, quail, so hunters come from all over to hunt here. Probably we have so many deer, as other than coyotes and cars, they don’t have many predators.

We just got back from dinner with my mother and sister at Carrabbas Italian Restaurant. Even though I don’t fancy the menu they have at that restaurant, I did enjoy the visit.

Now I’ve got 45 minutss to relax until Da Bulls game starts.

Hi, Rmom & Sojo!

Hi, Sojo, Grog & Wolfie! Wolfie - You’re a brave man, going to a restaurant on Mother’s Day. Although I love to eat out, that is the one day that I refuse to go. I found a few things to eat at Carrabbas when I ate there, but not enough (or good enough) to make repeat visits. My hubby cooked dinner (homemade pizza) and I cleaned up, with one of my sons helping. (The dishes got rinsed and a son will load the dishwasher tomorrow.) We agreed to go to a steak restaurant some other day as my official Mother’s Day celebration, but with my recent downturn in health, I wasn’t up to cooking today. I had originally planned to go to the Art & used Book Fair downtown today, but after the cath, decided that was too ambitious.

I’m not one to go out when a restaurant is going to be so crowded, but this was my sister’s and mother’s idea. I don’t know how many special days are left in that respect, so, for that reason, I suffer through it. :^)

Wolfie - If it was their idea, I understand! I stressed out for several years, trying to treat both my Mom and myself on the same day. I finally came to the conclusion that the particular date wasn’t significant, so we started doing mine whenever it was more convenient. Although, now that my mom is gone, I realized mine could be celebrated on that day, as long as we stayed away from the restaurants Moms generally get taken to. I have always wanted to go to the Art & Book Fair, but my mom came first. So, I was looking forward to going this year. Oh, well. That’s life for you.

Good evening everyone. I for one was glad to go out for Mother’s Day. I didn’t want nor my hubby wish to cook. We went Bishop’s formerly Furrs and had a nice meal. Line took 25 min but was worth it. We’re going next week since my sister and hubby couldn’t go they where in Leavenworth, KS for KS sampler fest on their food product they sell. Me I am still cautious on what I eat still I will not have any fried food at all. NO fried chicken. I had baked and still took skin off. Oh Big Sister your icon with flowers for your mothers day was very loving. Thank you.

SRmom I heard about the Arts and Book fair at Century II but I had to decline this as I have lots of books. Did you manage to get your class passed before your chest pains took place?

Kab - I wasn’t planning on buying any books, mostly just looking at the art, was my intent. Not yet. The final is tomorrow evening, so I’m studying right now for it. At least if I can’t do it tomorrow night, I’ve got until Friday to take it.

From local TV station Nation news station GMA will be out due to lepard being provoked in attacking a 1st grade boy from Friday. Will be on 7:30AM. The boy is okay. I wasn’t there heard like everyone else either radio or TV.

Ah shucks. I myself wouldn’t care for art though artist put a lot of effort in. I would be to tempted to buy books. I don’t need any. When at Goddard for annual city wide sale was so hard passing up paper back books at sale .25¢ each. Though I have gotten for less price. Before I can get more I need to read more of my own. With summer class coming very difficult. And with this class pending this doesn’t work out and I can’t keep up I will need to take over. Yea I haven’t started this summer class. From past classes no way would I take them for summer. two months only.

I have always enjoyed making art, I think I took it every quarter in high school, and always got A’s in that subject. It was an easy A for me, too. So I’ve rarely bought art, I’d prefer to make it myself. But it is fun to look at what the artists make. If I was still homeschooling, I would look at the used books, but I’m at the point of culling out my own library, not adding to it.

I’m with you Rmom…….any other day is a great time to celebrate Mother’s Day. Most importantly, all our kids have called, and we had some fun on the phone!

Strangely enough, we had some “plan overs” from a favorite Italian restaurant, that I just had to put in the oven, and then toss a salad. Great meal, very special……..no crowds!!!!

Good evening again. I just checked my final grade for final essay. Instructor was fast. 200 points I made 177.5 B grade. Overal B I passed still I’m not an English major. My topic I chose is Homeowner vs renter. We here are homeowner but at one time we did rent a lot for a mobile home and sold mobile home at a loss and moved to a house. We lived in mobile for 3 BD 2 bth for 6 years, a house smaller 4 years, hubby’s mother’s house by action 16 years and our present location now starting our 4th year.

M’Lady - I almost always plan on making a second meal out of something I have at a restaurant, because I can’t eat a whole lot in one sitting. Which is one of the reasons I rarely eat at buffets, because I never feel like I’ve eaten my money’s worth. In fact, I’m getting ready to go heat up what is left of my sancho from Friday evening’s meal out. I think it is good there is one day set on the calendar, or the guys would never think to do something special for their moms. But one day is just as good as another to me, as long as they do something. Kab - Congratulations on getting a B! I know that is a tough subject for you. I think I’m going to make my boys take one class each this summer, since they don’t have summer jobs. They’ll have to work to stay on top of the assignments, but since other than chores around here, they don’t much else they have to do - in my opinion anyway. They seem to think they have to have a fair amount of recreational time.

I thought about taking a summer class, but decided to take it off, and that was before my health went south. Now my plans for what I’ll do with that time might change, but still seems wise for me to stay out of school for now.

I am so happy I wanted to share yes SRmom that was a very tough course. I only need to take this one and may regret for two months is too hectic. The other subjects I won’t need to. Over 11 years ago I did take 3 different summer subjects at technical college those where hectic to. But this will be worse. Interpersonal communication. I did tell the advisior I didn’t want an example subject like Medical lanuage for summer no way. For your health you will need to talk with heart specialist. + I have broken 00 on my weight. A hard pound or two. Ground turkey helps. No fried. For me I wouldn’t want to watch a procedure I tried this on-line and I didn’t last very long. I figure reading may not be so bad. My goal is Encoding I hope medical charts to billing. And most medical offices are going electroinic for medical files.
