From yesterday: bmonk the smallest town I’ve ever lived in was Edmonton, which had, at the time, a population of 800,000+.
Pampa, TX, which I spoke of earlier, had a population of 50,000+. When I was last there, about 5 years ago, it stood at a little over 25,000. That was number was due to dwindle further with yet another plant closure. There’s not much future in towns that industry is retrenching.
Good Morning and Good Night Grog! And Good Morning to the rest of the Merry TRIBE! I’ll take Green eggs and Ham today, please. Have wonderful Sunday peoples!
Good morning, Tribe! Love your menu, Grog. I’ll just mosey over to the self serve table and help myself to Mrs. Ladywolf’s Chicken Fried Steak and Mashed potatoes with gravy! Yum!.Another night I couldn’t sleep, so I’ll do my ‘toon tour a little early..Regarding yesterday’s discussion of small cities vs. large cities, etc………I grew up in the San Fernando Valley section of Los Angeles……talk about a large city! When we retired, we moved up here, and the city limits has only 29,000 people, but the greater 3 county area has 75,000. I agree about the shopping and restaurant situation. So every once in a while, we’ll “take a ride” just to go out to dinner at an old favorite place, and then do some shopping. For the most part, we are NOT lacking for anything, including the best health care! We really lucked out when we relocated.
Good Sunday morning all. ICT has received some news from a national airplain maker. This place used to be hugh until the CEO’s decided to split the company. Boeing exectives are deciding next year if they will leave ICT, as they deal with defense contract. 2,100 workers would be affected.
It’s really sad to see so many shops on main street all boarded up. I hope that doesn’t happen as a result of Boing’s decision in your neighborhood ♥Kab♥
Grog the location of Boeing/Spirit is all aircraft. I do not think there are homes out there. And McConnel AF base is SE of there. This will not help ICT out either. As another aircraft Hawker Beechcraft is planing to lay off more workers. Bombardie plans to higher more not all at once. We have too many workers out. And I agree there are business especially retail that have closed and the buildings are empty. That is why so many homes are vacant. News need to check more on the homeless public. Just a few may have had better chance of getting some type of work. Majority has not.
Place I use to work at through the county for bad boys and some are still bad boys. Anyway through county wide through all departments 170 workers will loose their jobs. These workers could be anywere from 57 + 60. County wants them out. If they choose not they will be let go. Then they will higher a few to fill some of those positions. Pt at 9 years with no promotion or advancment to full time and if full time has 5 years in they can start saving for retirement, I was getting none of this. I’m leaning towards inbound call center I found out can do it at home. I’m still continue with my studies.
Good afternoon, tribe.Wink, here’s my decorating comedy of errors. It started yesterday when I put up the outside decorations. Usually the porch railing has swag lights hanging down with garland lights along the top. Testing the lights, one of the swag didn’t work. Last year, there was a bulb I could wiggle that would get it going. This year, no dice. Ran out to Target to see if they had them (bought them there many years ago). No luck. Decided just to do the garland this year. Checked them all, they all worked.Got the lights up, the yard decorations up, plugged everything in….nothing. Finally figured out it was the adaptor that turns the porch light into an outlet. By this time, I needed to leave to go to see a show included in a season package.Came home from the show (Cirque Holidaze I swear some of those folks have NO bones) and went out to Lowe’s to get a new adaptor. Hooked it up….nothing. The extension cord which worked fine last week with the leaf vacuum was dead. Too late and too tired to want to do anything else. After church today, went and got new exetension cord. Hooked everything up and the middle set of garland lights (which worked fine yesterday) didn’t work. Checked all the bulbs, no go. Back out to Target and they did have one that is very similar (slightly different color). Took the old set out and put the new one in. Finally, it all works. Will get everything turned on tonight and if something doesn’t come on, I think I’ll cry.
when I have that problem, there is usually a reset button I can push. For my outside lights, it’s in the garage. I usually have to reset after each time it rains.
Good for you, bigg. I’m not a big fan of the PAC 10 or 12 or whatever it is now. I usually watch the SEC exclusively when I watch college. I always thought that was the toughest conference to play in. It’s hard to repeat as SEC champion, never mind national champion.

You’re sure it’s not a burned out light? I don’t know how old your set is, but that can bring down the whole string with one burned light.
