If Trump isn’t paying taxes (which is probably an outright lie—everyone from rich to poor pays sales taxes on things), then he is either declaring losses legally, he has set up his corporate enterprises such that HE doesn’t have income tax to pay (but the corporations in question do), and-or he is not taking personal income to pay for things but rather is doing everything in the corporations’ names.
Whichever it is, it is in all probability perfectly legal (albeit a convoluted mess of accounting), and if you find it unacceptable, your issue is with the U.S. tax codes, not Trump. Ditto for just about every other person or entity that is claimed not to pay taxes, from billionaires to megachurches to corporations.
OR, and far more likely, he’s wrong about “Trump doesn’t pay tax.”
In other news, Trump Media’s Nasdaq debut padded Trump’s wealth by about $5 billion – though only on paper. It would be very difficult to turn that into any form of cash up front, and quite damaging to that “net worth” if he attempted to “cash out” so soon. And any sane stock analyst will tell you that said stock price is horribly inflated and almost impossible to sustain long term without substantial success on Truth Social’s or Trump Media’s part, which no serious analyst really foresees.
But, yeah, all of a sudden he WAS “as rich as he claimed”—if only for a moment and for stupid reasons.
