Hey! Howdy again to StelBel, Cleokaya, Lonewolf, Dry, Grog, Supersurfer, Sugie, Chikuku, Comicgos and all you friends of CD.

I seem to be recovered from one of the worst cold/flu episodes I have had in my life. I hope there isn’t going to be a relapse so I’m being cautious about washing my hands, etc.

I was no sooner feeling a bit better when I had to take my cali point siamese mix kitty, Pandora, in to see the vet. She is 19 years and 2 months old. Pandora, that is, not the vet. I’ve had her it seems forever and she is a really sweet kitty and I love her so much.

I noticed she was staggering and seemed unable to walk for more than a few feet before she kind of fell over and laid there for a while and then got up again to try it once more. This went on for a couple of days and I decided it wasn’t just a pulled muscle or something like that.

I was pretty sure this was the end for her because of her age and I was prepared to hear the worst. Well, after $400.00 worth of exams, tests and x-rays we were called back to the hospital for our much dreaded consultation with the vet.

It turns out that she has arthritus (sp?) in her left front leg and rear left leg. It’s pretty severe and was causiing a lot of pain. Why the sudden onset? The answer is that cats are hard to diagnose because they often don’t show pain as dogs and people do and her pain just got to a severe stage because of where the arthritus is located.

We got a pain shot for the reduction of inflamation and I have to give her medication every two days from now on.

But the amazing, unexpected thing is that all of her tests, the blood tests, the liver and other enzyme tests, everything else was like a regular, normal cat half her age. Our vet says that she is amazingly healthy and she even has no gum or tooth problems which is unheard of in a really, really old cat.

I’m so relieved and happy to know she isn’t at death’s door as I suspected she was that I just had to share it with you. I hope I haven’t bored you cross eyed with my little, happy story. But I can’t help it. I was so ready to have the vet tell me she had cancer or some other awful incurable problem and needed to be put to sleep. So please bear with me and share my joy.

TGIF!!!!! Good Morning Grog, Dry, Cleo, Lonewolf & all you CDers.

Puppy breath, glad to hear that you and your cat are doing well. I went through a stint with my cat Tina a few months ago so I know how you are feeling. As Plods says cherish your time with her. Life is all too short.

What wonderful news puppybreath! And glad you are feeling better.

I went to P.O. day before yesterday and I only had to stand in line for 20 minutes. One of the regular P.O. workers is on probabtionary leave because when he was arrested he asked to go to the bathroom and came out with a mouthful of his own excretment which he then violently spat on the arresting officer! So, …. one station at the local P.O. is vacant!

Well thanks for that piece of information odeliasimone.

Good morning Fellow Baby, cleo, sugie and puppybreath!

So glad to hear about Pandora. I’ll bet she’s very pretty. I hope you don’t have trouble giving her the pills! Been there, done that, and have the scars to prove it! :-D Glad you are feeling better as well.

Did anyone notice the skeleton on the right? He was waiting a REALLY long time I guess!

WELCOME BACK, PUPPYBREATH!! I am so glad you’re feeling better! I was really worried about you. And, I’m really happy to hear your good news about Pandora. She does have some very good genes in her. Hope the meds work and she’s more comfortable. Severe arthritis pain is hard to bear. Sounds like she’s a trooper! Take good care, both of you.

Good Afternoon, Lonewolf, Puppybreath, cleokaya, Grog, Dry, Sugie, comicgos, Plods, odeliasimone and all of CD world!
