If I’m counting right, move the decimal place from the right over three.

Really, this is more of a problem if you are using a slide rule.

Just looking at the two operands tells you the approximate product, so since the answer begins with 9 the decimal point must come after that. And that works even when using a slide rule.

He got all the numbers right. I know a few people that getting the correct answer with a calculator isn’t a given.
